New Moon in Leo July 23, 2017: Your Kingdom Awaits

Date: July 23, 2017

Moonbeams: Fire! Fire! Fire!

Degree- 0 Degrees of Leo

Aspects: Sun and Moon Conjunct Mars in Leo Square Uranus in Fire

The overall theme of this NM is self empowerment. Fire energy is activating, spontaneous, unpredictable, and fast. Just take a look at all of the fire energy present at this time.

Sun in Leo= Fire

Moon in Leo= Fire

Mars in Leo= Fire + Fire

Uranus in Aries= Fire

Mercury in Leo= Fire

The big theme of 2017 has been de-conditioning- letting go of the known in order to build your new foundation. But this has required a lot of soul searching, releasing, and re-evaluating. It has been an incredibly intense inner process. Fire energy on the other hand burns right to the heart (Leo) of the matter. It doesn’t require psycho-analysis or deep release work. All Leo wants you to do is to step into your Kingdom or Queendom by trusting the spontaneity of this time which manifests as instant presence.  Major changes are unfolding over the next weeks through activating passionate responses from you. There’s no more dillying dallying around things or needing to feel them out before you decide to act. Trust your initial responses at this time as 0 degrees of Leo marks an important creation point. Change can only occur when you yourself change.

Emotions will go unchecked which are a necessary part of change. This does not mean that you can be reckless or irresponsible with how you choose to react, rather the highest expression of Leo is inner truth. Observe your emotions from a place of neutrality in order for them to move through you and set fire to whatever needs to be activated at this time.

There’s no room for self pity or tears during these next 2 weeks. It’s time to strengthen your will, to stoke the fires of your soul by acting from a place of passion, as this is your truth, this is who you ARE without the illusory waters, hardened earth, or analytical air. Fire is uncontainable, it both destroys and creates at the same time, much like 2017 has been contradictory at times for us all.

Leo is connected to royalty because Kings amd Queens answer to nobody. They command presence through their stoic presentation. It’s time to come out of the shadows and embrace the crown. Your kingdom within awaits you.

The Voynich Manuscript- REVIEW

This is the most comprehensive book I have read about the Voynich Manuscript which is a manuscript written in an undecipherable language featuring sketchings of herbs, and cosmic imagery. The theories, researchers, and facts about this strange ambiguous book are featured throughout this quick read. Detailing the book’s personal and academic history allows the reader to come to their own conclusions, as the book was written with a scholarly objective perspective. I loved that the book included pictures of the Voynich Manuscript which is a nice added bonus and allows the reader to conduct their own research. I was hoping for a more concrete theory and or more succinct answers, however, as an introductory book- it was both informative and concise. Overall, this was an easy read that provided a nice over-view about this mysterious manuscript. I would highly recommend this for anyone who has ever been curious about its origins and full history.

The Magickal Family by Monica Crosson- REVIEW

The Magickal Family by Monica Crosson is THE manual to use if you want to raise magickal children and imbue your life with a bit of practical magick. The author told the story of how she raised her own magical family successfully while providing many tips and advice on how to incorporate modern day witchery and paganism into your life. Her approach was not forceful and did not come across as preachy or intimidating, rather, her tips on how to add magic into children’s lives were more covert and disguised as fun little games or child friendly crafts. While many people will not feel comfortable going to the extreme the author did by making every single aspect of their child’s lives paganistic, tips such as following the Wheel of the Year, or honouring Mother Nature, or grounding exercises accompanied by cutesy songs were much more realistic ,as opposed to running naked under the full moon. What I especially loved about this book was the underlying message- that honouring your child’s individuality and uniqueness is what magic is all about. I appreciated the author’s encouragement throughout the book to nurture your inner child, as it is the innocence and joy of believing in magic that truly makes any life extra ordinary.  I would highly recommend this book for anybody who wants to fill their family’s lives with wonder and appreciation of the simple things in life such as the changing of the seasons, the lunar cycle, and handmade soaps among other things. It is these simple practices offered in this book that gets back to the basics on what magic truly is. The appreciation of the time, and beauty of all the little things in life……much like raising a family is all about treasuring those little moments that whizz by in the blink of an eye……and that is what the magic of life is all about.

New Moon in Cancer June 23, 2017: The Sandcastle

Time- 3:31 am UT- June 24

10:31pm ET

7:31 PDT

Moonbeams- Co-creation

The mermaid came ashore and directed the architects of the ocean to sculpt her sandcastle. The waves moulded and shaped her home into the home of her dreams. The supermoon heartbeat pulled the tides higher and higher, while Jupiter in Libra put down her anchor. If Cancer rules the past, then the sepia toned sand became the sands of time, reminding the mermaid that every second counts. Her sandcastle was her art of memory. Every room was filled with objects of importance, feelings of love, and fantasies of grandeur. Walking through each room pulled her deeper into herself, into the cavern of her soul. She defended her decision to create this gaudy granular mansion on the shore, because it was her creation. She had birthed it using the waters of the ocean of her consciousness. It was home.

The New Moon in Cancer features a stellium in Cancer- Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Mars. We are birthing something new, something from deep within ourselves. The stellium in Cancer is trine Neptune in Pisces- signifying dreams becoming reality. A square to Jupiter in Libra is asking us to practice non-attachment- to not fixate on our dreams, and to not get hardened by the truth of our reality. Coming into alignment with both, is the essence of creation. When a woman gives birth, both her and her child and working in tandem to ensure the safe and successful arrival of the baby. Manifestation works the same way, like the tides of the ocean, there is always a push and a pull, and with this New Moon being a Supermoon, we will feel extra passionate about creating something new for ourselves. The waters of our consciousness will be sculpting the new reality, and we can aid this process through our creativity and meditation. Cancer rules the passage of time and we are being called to utilize every precious moment to its full advantage. Forgiving those who may have wronged us, letting go of things that are interfering with our self trust, and dreaming big so as to co-create something wonderful. A new cycle is beginning, and the gestation period is starting today and will complete at the Spring Equinox of 2018. We are most comfortable when we are at home, wherever that may be, and like a mermaid who creates a sandcastle of her dreams, we too are creating our own sandcastles, with every wish, dream, and hope being a grain of sand. And it is that combination that makes it withstand the crashing waves of uncertainty.

Summer Soulstice 2017

The June 21st Solstice marks the official start of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere and the longest day of the year, while the Winter Solstice occurs in the Southern Hemisphere and marks the shortest day of the year. Even though this is more of an astronomical event, the planetary energies on this day actually foretells what will occur for the next 3 months on a collective scale up until the end of September and even up until the Fall Equinox . Looking at your planetary transits that day can also act as a mini Solar Return chart- letting you know about the energies you will be working with or against until the end of September.

Sun in Cancer Conjunct Mercury in Cancer- Communication will be important, so focus on improving the way you speak and get your point across, this include body language. It’s a great time to network on social media, and to write from the comfort of your home. Lightworking through your writing will naturally come through. Emotional instability will serve as inspiration for creative works. Feeling is healing. The Sun and Mercury will both be opposite Saturn showing a restlessness and need and huge desire to move on.

Moon in Taurus- Light bulbs will go off in our minds about our future and what we need to work on in order to bring it into reality. The Moon will also be in its Balsamic phase at the Scorpio degree, indicating a heavy occultic overtone to this solstice. With both the Sun and Moon being in their dark phase it’s a time for focusing on our future and releasing the past. Our future is the light at the end of the tunnel.

Venus Trine Pluto- Your intuition will be heightened so you will be able to analyze your current situation with a magnifying glass. Do not sacrifice your morals and values for anyone. Use your powers for good and not evil.

Moon to Pluto- The Moon is the ruler of the our Solstice Sun so take note of where you are not being honest with yourself. What are you hiding from? If you’re hiding from change or are afraid to put yourself out there, Pluto is going to reveal this to you.

Considering this is the time of light in the NH, there is a darkness that is pervading this Solstice with a heavy Plutonian and Scorpionic energy. We are being called to retreat into our womb consciousness- to surrender and extend our optimism out into the world like the rays of sunshine. There is always a balance in the universe and we have to thank the cosmos for giving us this day of light, but balancing it with the darkness of introspection. If I could sum up this solstice, it would be to to dream big, have strong values, and to remember that YOU are the light in the darkness.

“In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present.”– Francis Bacon

Lana Del Rey’s song ‘Summertime Sadness’ captures the essence of this Solstice with its melancholy lyrics and sepia toned video which screams Cancer.

The Stargazer’s Embassy by Eleanor Lerman- REVIEW ***A Must Read!!

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of The Stargazer’s Embassy by Eleanor Lerman from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Stargazer’s Embassy is unlike any alien novel written before. Thought provoking and addictive, this is a must read and should be on everyone’s e-reader and book shelf. Judging by the title, what appears to be a quirky cosmic sci-fi novel is actually a rich metaphysical novel that ponders some important existential questions. What really happens after death? What are aliens’ intentions? Can we ever truly escape our past?

The story follows a woman named Julia who finds herself part of an alien conspiracy and wants no part of it. She’s a house-cleaner who is trying to move on from her new-agey childhood and mommy issues. All she has is a tattoo, and a place called The Stargazer’s Embassy, where people come and go, like life itself. We find her at various points in her life struggling with this issue, and trying to make a life for herself. Along the way we are introduced to some interesting characters who find themselves implicated in the very same alien problems she’s trying to escape from.

Julia’s defiance of involving herself in this haunting issue is what makes this a stand out novel. We don’t see Julia enthusiastically throwing herself into the unknown. We see a truly scared, annoyed, and assertive character who becomes the anti-hero. There is a will she or won’t she anticipation that hooks the reader and offers a certain emotional and psychological realism. There are plenty of alien encounters in the novel to satisfy traditional science fiction lovers, but it takes it a step further by offering a multitude of spiritual questions. It is because of this, that The Stargazer’s Embassy becomes an exploration of the meaning of life.

Suffering from emotional abandonment issues, the aliens become a metaphor for Julia’s strange childhood. In essence, she herself is an alien- trying to create a life for herself that she’s never known. Losing her mother with many unanswered questions, Julia hopes her encounters with the aliens, or “things” as she likes to call them, will provide her with the answers she needs. The aliens themselves are not exactly sure what they’re looking for and this in turn becomes a mirror for Julia and other “experiencers” encounters. If we all had the chance to travel throughout the cosmos like the aliens- would any of our questions be answered, or would we be even more confused? Julia spends most of her life searching for answers, but it is the very place she is running away from that provides her with the comfort she seeks- The Stargazer’s Embassy. The aliens have just as many questions as Julia and her friends do, but appreciating life for the journey it is, is all that counts in the end. Everything has a beginning and an end, so rather than spend lifetimes dissecting what it all means, it is important to treasure every waking moment, because it is those moments that stitch the fabric of our lives. There are two things we must do in our lifetime, be born and die. Everything in between is alien compared to the certainty of those two things.

I appreciated the humour associated with the aliens and their un-friendly demeanors. Once again they did not come across as stereotypical menacing superior beings, but relatable drifters who seemed genuinely lost. The story was perfectly paced and the first person narrative was a great way to keep the reader invested in Julia’s journey.

In essence, each of us have our own Stargazer’s Embassy- a place, either imagined or real where we are able to go to find comfort and peace- knowing that the answers we seek, are in fact seeking us. The Stargazer’s Embassy is a place where people- human and inhuman come and go, like life itself.
