New Moon in Gemini- “I am Unwritten”

Moonbeams- New Thought Cycle Begins!

Time- 8:44pm UT

4 degrees in Gemini= Stability

New Moons in Gemini are usually times of strong mental activity where new ideas begin to percolate and mercurial activities become the focus. This New Moon is very unique in that it is virtually un-aspected. The skies are quiet during this lunation indicating that something is about to begin. It is in silence and solitude that a-ha moments come to us and inner reflection can take hold.

The planetary ruler of this moon is Mercury who is in the sign of Taurus. Mercury in Taurus becomes quieter and more reflective. Mercury is also sextile Neptune indicating the need to clear the mind of illusions through spiritual practices such as meditation, yoga, and tantras.

This New Moon is about clearing the mind in order to focus the mind. We each have a blank page before us waiting to be written on. It’s a new beginning with no ending so the possibilites are endless.

What’s your story going to be?

The Natasha Bedingfield song ‘Unwritten’ perfectly explains this New Moon in Gemini. Having a lot of air in her natal chart, Natasha’s lyrics capture the essence of Gemini……..suspension of thought in order to let spirit be the scribe.

I am unwritten, can’t read my mind, I’m undefined

I’m just beginning, the pen’s in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you

Open up the dirty window

Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance

So close you can almost taste it

Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

The rest is still unwritten

Oh, oh, oh

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines

We’ve been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can’t live that way

Staring at the blank page before you

Open up the dirty window

Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance

So close you can almost taste it

Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin

No one else can feel it for you

Only you can let it in

No one else, no one else

Can speak the words on your lips

Drench yourself in words unspoken

Live your life with arms wide open

Today is where your book begins

The rest is still unwritten

Fluorite: Pisces Medicine

Fluorite is one of those crystals that everyone needs in their stash. Known as the ‘Genius Stone’ it promotes mental acuity like no other rock, gem, or mineral out there in the jewelry shop of Mother Nature. It strengthens the mind, fine tunes analytical and critical thinking skills, helps the user attain and remember information, and assists in solving complex problems. Bringing both the left brain and right brain together by bringing in more life force, spiritual and metaphysical awareness becomes heightened as does creativity creating a psychic spark in the individual.

There are many different variations of Fluorite- Purple, Blue, Yellow, Green, but they all target the mind and consciousness.

Exceptional for clearing mental fog, distortion, and illusions, Fluorite becomes medicine for every dreaming Pisces. Helping to dissolve mental confusion, it gifts the user with the ability to work through every situation and problem methodically as opposed to drowning in the emotional tides that can sweep a person under. Keeping us connected to the divine, while firmly planted on the earth, this is the ideal crystal for anyone who finds themselves getting lost in the astral plane and new age spirituality. I call this crystal Pisces medicine, because as someone who has a stellium in Pisces, I understand how difficult it is to stay focused here in present reality when spirit and dreams are always beckoning. Fluorite becomes a crystallized chain that connects us to both planes without sacrificing one for the other.

Fluorite is also excellent for meditation as it helps to quiet the mind and to access “higher” information. It’s also great for studying, dream recall, and anything that requires concentration.

Fluorite is the crystal for the zodiac sign Pisces, but serves a dual purpose of not only being the birth crystal, but as also being a great medication for those who drown in their own thoughts.

Get a prescription of Fluorite and watch yourself become the master of your mind.

An Astrological Journey with Lenormand

I have been divining with Lenormand cards for a while now, and I have noticed the zodiac within the cards themselves. I haven’t found any other information about this anywhere, so I thought I would share it here on my blog. Lenormand consists of 36 cards or 38 depending on the deck you use. I have discovered that the first 3 cards of the desk corresponds to Aries, the next 3 Taurus and so on. The meanings of the cards echo the archetypes of the zodiac. Let’s take a look.

Rider, Clover, Ship

Rider= quickening movement, a message is on its way

Clover= small little luck

Ship= a journey

Aries-= quick, small, a new journey. Aries is the first sign of the Zodiac and corresponds to fast energy since it’s ruled by Mars. Aries energy also denotes a smaller burst of energy because it’s the baby of the zodiac who is about to embark on a new journey.

House, Tree,  Clouds

House= literal house, or family

Tree= good health, stability, new growth

Clouds= confusion, deception, blurry vision

Taurus= An an earth sign, Taurus loves the home and garden, but their love of money and luxury can distort their perspectives.

Snake, Coffin, Bouquet

Snake= deception

Coffin= literal death, rebirth

Bouquet- a lovely gift

Gemini-  Gemini’s can be deceptive as they are the best at playing mind games and can be a little two-faced at times like a two headed snake. Since Gemini rules over some of May and almost all of June, they are associated with Spring.

Scythe, Whip, Birds

Scythe- something being cut, removed

Whip- stinging feelings

Birds- chatter, communication

Cancer- As by far one of the most emotional signs in Astrology, Cancers often remove themselves from situations and relationships that become toxic or overbearing for them. As empaths, they feel emotions from other people that can clutter their energy fields, making them feel literally sick. As the mother archetype, a lot of Cancers are afraid to leave the nest, and would love to have their own children to nurture and raise.

Child, Fox, Bear

Child- youthful energy, new beginnings

Fox- trickery

Bear- big money, boss

Leo- Leo energy is all about embracing the inner child. They can also be a little sneaky and can me motivated by ulterior motives.  Leoline energy is also loud and proud, and expect to live like royals.

Star, Stork, Dog

Stars- destiny, wish fulfillment

Stork- delivery, baby

Dog- loyal

Virgo-  Virgo energy is pure, spiritual, and loyal. The stork symbolism corresponds to the Virgin archetype of this sign.

Tower, Garden, Mountain

Tower- institution, money, corporations, court house

Garden- community

Mountain- obstacles

Libra- Libran energy is associated with institutions, communities, and obstacles, as their is a give and take that correlates to the 1st and 7th house axis.

Crossroads, Mice, Heart

Crossroads- a decision to make

Mice- illness

Heart- love, literal heart

Scorpio- This energy is about transformation, illness, and having a heavy heart.

Ring, Book, Letter

Ring- comittment

Book- studies

Letter- correspondence

Sagittarius- studious, committed

Man, Woman, Lily

Man= Man

Woman= Woman

Lily= long time, long term

Capricorn- Capricorns have a nice dose of both masculine and feminine energies as they are able to combine the outward expression of masculine energy with the intuitive know how of the feminine. Capricorns take their time in life, slowly working their way up the mountain.

Sun, Moon, Key

The Fortuneteller by Gwendolyn Womack- June 6, 2017

Semele Cavnow appraises antiquities for an exclusive Manhattan auction house, deciphering ancient texts—and when she discovers a manuscript written in the time of Cleopatra, she knows it will be the find of her career. Its author tells the story of a priceless tarot deck, now lost to history, but as Semele delves further, she realizes the manuscript is more than it seems. Both a memoir and a prophecy, it appears to be the work of a powerful seer, describing devastating wars and natural disasters in detail thousands of years before they occurred.

The more she reads, the more the manuscript begins to affect Semele’s life. But what happened to the tarot deck? As the mystery of her connection to its story deepens, Semele can’t shake the feeling that she’s being followed. Only one person can help her make sense of it all: her client, Theo Bossard. Yet Theo is arrogant and elusive, concealing secrets of his own, and there’s more to Semele’s desire to speak with him than she would like to admit. Can Semele even trust him?

The auction date is swiftly approaching, and someone wants to interfere—someone who knows the cards exist, and that the Bossard manuscript is tied to her. Semele realizes it’s up to her to stop them: the manuscript holds the key to a two-thousand-year-old secret, a secret someone will do anything to possess.

The Bear & The Nightingale by Katherine Arden

25489134

At the edge of the Russian wilderness, winter lasts most of the year and the snowdrifts grow taller than houses. But Vasilisa doesn’t mind—she spends the winter nights huddled around the embers of a fire with her beloved siblings, listening to her nurse’s fairy tales. Above all, she loves the chilling story of Frost, the blue-eyed winter demon, who appears in the frigid night to claim unwary souls. Wise Russians fear him, her nurse says, and honor the spirits of house and yard and forest that protect their homes from evil.

After Vasilisa’s mother dies, her father goes to Moscow and brings home a new wife. Fiercely devout, city-bred, Vasilisa’s new stepmother forbids her family from honoring the household spirits. The family acquiesces, but Vasilisa is frightened, sensing that more hinges upon their rituals than anyone knows.

And indeed, crops begin to fail, evil creatures of the forest creep nearer, and misfortune stalks the village. All the while, Vasilisa’s stepmother grows ever harsher in her determination to groom her rebellious stepdaughter for either marriage or confinement in a convent.

As danger circles, Vasilisa must defy even the people she loves and call on dangerous gifts she has long concealed—this, in order to protect her family from a threat that seems to have stepped from her nurse’s most frightening tales.

Why We Should Treat Our Crystals Like Pets

How many of us have brought home the most sparkly powerful crystal completely enamored with it for a few days or weeks and without even thinking about it, abandon it on a shelf or dusty corner of our bedroom, perhaps only using it for a much needed ritual, only to put it back to its forgotten hideaway? I am certainly guilty of doing this, even worse you could say, as I keep the majority of my crystals in a little shabby chic box I keep in a bedside table drawer. This reminds me of the feeling when  you bring home that new kitty or puppy where you just can’t stop playing with them, and then as the weeks go by you find yourself waning off the 24/7 attention, busying yourself with “other” more “important” things.

Crystals are living things with feelings like plants, animals or trees. It is believed that if your crystal breaks or chips there is a powerful emotive energy that is being emitted from the crystal that usually is reflective of an inner fracturing of the person using the crystal. I can speak from my own experience of dropping a rose quartz pendant in a new age shop and of course had to buy it. I brought it home and dare I say, glued it back together again……which is somewhat of a taboo in the crystal community, as glue is not a natural occurring substance. I have always believed that my Rose Quartz broke because my heart at the time was suffering from a self love deficiency. When I held the Rose Quartz it could not withstand that type of energy because it was emitting extra strong self love vibrations. I never felt much from that pendant and kept it hidden away in my little box for a good year.

Occasionally I take out all of my crystals to cleanse them and it sometimes feels as though they are crying for attention. Some feel weak, others feel cold, and some feel turned off from me. I recently cleansed my Rose Quartz in my Tibetan singing bowl and felt it was waking up. It’s malnutrition of cobwebs, darkness, and neglect were disappearing as its frequencies awoke to the sound healing. Ever since I have felt a stronger connection to it, and have started working with it again. It’s like those people who keep their dogs locked up indoors all the time, and when they take them outside once or twice a year for a walk, they can’t contain themselves, they’re running all over the place, jumping on strangers, and chasing the squirrels…….it’s as though they have been resuscitated.

I’ve started noticing that crystals need our attention as much as our pets and plants do. When they’re ignored they can become dull in colour and weak in energy. I even know people who have thrown away or sold crystals and I can’t help but wonder if they know that they can’t provide the necessities it needs, much like a pet owner has to give up a cat or dog they can no longer look after?

Feeding our crystals with love polishes these little vessels into the soul jewelry they’re meant to be. We’re obviously not going to put a leash on them and take them for a walk, but we need to nurture their frequencies by using them, speaking to them, asking them for help, and cleansing them. I’ve also noticed that taking them outside freshens them up a bit as they are visiting Mother Gaia, who is their own personal jeweler.

So while it’s important to raise and nurture our pets, we can’t neglect the pets of Mother Earth, those pets of the cosmos, those pets of light and love we call crystals. It’s not so crazy to have a pet rock after all.

The Spiritual Lessons of ‘Collateral Beauty’

I recently watched the film ‘Collateral Beauty’ and was moved by its deep pondering of life’s 3 main facets- Love, Time, & Death. The story follows Howard, who after losing his 6 year old daughter, suffers a mental breakdown and writes letters to Love, Time, & Death. The story then invites the audience on a journey to discover that beauty is everywhere and the emotions we feel are the vehicles to wake us up to the miraculous beauty that is with us at all times- the times of darkness, grief, and tragedy. Life is fragile, and deserves to be handled with care. There is no time, love, or death, just infinite moments of presence.

Howard is in charge of a company and 3 of his closest co-workers can’t seem to get him out of his funk. One of his co-workers played Edward Norton devises a plan to hire 3 thespians (actors) to portray Love, Time & Death. They all agree and confront Howard individually. Love tells him that she is there even in his pain. Time tells him that he is an abundant gift. Death tells him “nothing is ever really dead if you look at it.”  The story continues to unravel asking some deep metaphysical questions, but I won’t spoil it for those who have not seen it yet.

After watching the film, I couldn’t help but wonder what Love, Time & Death have to say to me? Would they be angry at me? Would they be pleased? Would they challenge me or smile at me?

When the actors approach Howard in the film, Love first confronts him at a restaurant, Time accosts him in his office, and Death sits down beside him on a park bench.

If Love sat across from me a restaurant what would she say? What would time want to tell me at my job? And is that random lady who sits beside me on a park bench feeding the pigeons really an elderly lady, or is she death herself?

I walked away from the film with a big question looming over me. What if we are all emotions or concepts personified? Maybe your mother is nurturance, maybe your father is authority, maybe your sibling is dependability? Who and what are you at this very moment? Are you Patience? Are you Grief? Are you Joy?

Regardless, if all emotions and concepts rely on each other in order to exist, than everything can be both beautiful and painful at the same time. Everything can be fast and slow at the same time. Howard comes to learn that his grief is not a prison sentence, but confirmation and proof of how much he loved his daughter. He learns you are never out of time because time is always available, and nothing ever dies because something else is always being born.

We are all one and we have the choice of whether or not we are going to view everything as separate entities or whether we are going to view everything as connected……and that is what collateral beauty is…….the legacy of now.

Full Moon in Scorpio May 10, 2017: Soul Detective

Date: May 10, 2017

Degree- 20 degrees

Moonbeams- what is really going on?

Like a detective on the hunt for clues to solve a murder mystery, our Full Moon in Scorpio is asking us to solve our crime of passion, that being our intuitive neglect. Scorpio is a penetrating sign that is able to uncover the “hidden” in everyday life. Ruled by Pluto, Scorpionic energy needs to transform and cleanse negativity in order to make room for its purest expression of intuition. As a water sign, Scorpio’s gift is that of psychic prowess. If Cancer is the healer, and Pisces is the Dreamer, than Scorpio is the mirror. Taurus is the polarity of Scorpio indicating that one’ needs are directly linked to one’s desires. Scorpio above any other sign wants to feel validated for who they truly are without having projections thrown onto them. They cannot help that they find themselves swimming the underground chambers of those they encounter, they cannot help the fact that what they “see” is what they project. In essence, Scorpio becomes the cracked mirror of the zodiac, unable to foster a deep sense of themselves without letting the murky waters below pull them under.

During this lunation the sun will be in Taurus lighting up the Taurus-Scorpio axis. How can we foster that deep sense of self from a place of purity as opposed to contamination? Let’s look to our cosmic clues during this full moon to help us solve this crime.

Mars Squaring Neptune

  • Inability to trust the flow of life, lack of self trust.

Pluto RX Trine Sun

  • Transformation

Mercury Conjunct Uranus

  • Exposure- truth coming out

Full Moon Trine Neptune

  • Strong intuition

Full Moon Trine Chiron

  • Healing the psyche

Solving the Crime

If we put these clues together, we can see that this full moon is providing us with the opportunity to repair our cracked mirrors through trusting ourselves and the journey we find ourselves on. If your projections are negative, look within yourself to purge what is no longer serving you. Scorpio is the regenerative sign, so rest assured that even if the waters pull you under, there is a cavern full of light that is beckoning to you…………….transformation.

Mystery Solved.

Case Closed.
