Full Moon in Capricorn July 8/9- Chained to the Rhythm

Date: July 8/9

Moonbeams- Purging, Awakening, Self-Awareness

Many Astrologers are calling this the most intense moon of the year. This is due to the Full Moon in Capricorn being conjunct Pluto- planet of the underworld. This is the alchemical equation for transformation- bringing together Capricorn- the sign of emotional responsibility, and Pluto- the planet of depth. There is also a T-Square with the Sun in Cancer conjunct Mars in Cancer, squaring Jupiter in Libra.  You will feel on edge, explosive, and overly emotional.  The square to Jupiter in Libra will show you how you react and how others react to you. It’s about making the choice on how you want to react to people and situations. You always have the choice. When you throw Pluto and Jupiter into the mix, over-exaggerated reactions and feelings can come up, due to subconscious fears. If you think back to the February eclipses which this lunation is triggering, your subconscious fears were on full display at that time, by either coming true, or spurring an emotional response within you.  Pluto loves to bring to light that which is hidden, and conjunct the illuminating Moon, you will have a better and deeper understanding of what is holding you back.  It’s important to remember, that there is a lot going on behind the scenes right now, and our planetary configurations are trying to get you to wake up how to your attachments (Mars in Cancer) to feelings (Cancer Sun) and situations are holding you back. Understanding that your internal feelings create your external reality is the most important lesson of this Full Moon in Capricorn. The sign of Capricorn is here to teach us how to emotionally detach. When Caps have a goal, they accomplish it, slowly but surely, without investing a lot of their emotions into it.  Capricorn just wants you to compose yourself and move on! As an earth sign moon, we must turn to nature to help us cope during these emotionally intense times. Nature has a rhythm and a cycle, if flowers got too attached to blooming, they would never go dormant- and this would kill them. Remember, attachments are like chains, and if you want to be free to live your life, you must cut them away! We’re all used the rhythm of our life, but the time has come to make a change, invite it, welcome it, and surrender to it.

I thought Katy Perry’s song ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ was a great explanation of this moon. This song is about how we get comfy and cozy in our little worlds- which is actually to our detriment because we’re not truly living and evolving.

New Moon in Cancer June 23, 2017: The Sandcastle

Moonbeams- Co-creation

The mermaid came ashore and directed the architects of the ocean to sculpt her sandcastle. The waves moulded and shaped her home into the home of her dreams. The supermoon heartbeat pulled the tides higher and higher, while Jupiter in Libra put down her anchor. If Cancer rules the past, then the sepia toned sand became the sands of time, reminding the mermaid that every second counts. Her sandcastle was her art of memory. Every room was filled with objects of importance, feelings of love, and fantasies of grandeur. Walking through each room pulled her deeper into herself, into the cavern of her soul. She defended her decision to create this gaudy granular mansion on the shore, because it was her creation. She had birthed it using the waters of the ocean of her consciousness. It was home.

The New Moon in Cancer features a stellium in Cancer- Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Mars. We are birthing something new, something from deep within ourselves. The stellium in Cancer is trine Neptune in Pisces- signifying dreams becoming reality. A square to Jupiter in Libra is asking us to practice non-attachment- to not fixate on our dreams, and to not get hardened by the truth of our reality. Coming into alignment with both, is the essence of creation. When a woman gives birth, both her and her child and working in tandem to ensure the safe and successful arrival of the baby. Manifestation works the same way, like the tides of the ocean, there is always a push and a pull, and with this New Moon being a Supermoon, we will feel extra passionate about creating something new for ourselves. The waters of our consciousness will be sculpting the new reality, and we can aid this process through our creativity and meditation. Cancer rules the passage of time and we are being called to utilize every precious moment to its full advantage. Forgiving those who may have wronged us, letting go of things that are interfering with our self trust, and dreaming big so as to co-create something wonderful. A new cycle is beginning, and the gestation period is starting today and will complete at the Spring Equinox of 2018. We are most comfortable when we are at home, wherever that may be, and like a mermaid who creates a sandcastle of her dreams, we too are creating our own sandcastles, with every wish, dream, and hope being a grain of sand. And it is that combination that makes it withstand the crashing waves of uncertainty.

Full Moon in Sagittarius June 9, 2017: The Box

Date- June 9, 2017

Degree- 18 degrees

Moonbeams- It’s time to move on……

“Instead of thinking outside of the box, get rid of the box”– Deepak Chopra

Welcome to our Full Moon in Sagittarius. The Full Moon will be conjunct Saturn which is all about doing research to figure out what we’re doing and not doing correctly. Saturn polishes whatever it touches, so we are being asked to work hard in order to see the desired results. Saturn is absorbing much of the emotional essence of this moon, so it’s important to have realistic goals. A great question to ask yourself at this time is “Am I where I’m supposed to be?” The ninth house ruler in Astrology is Sagittarius which rules travel and philosophy among other things- so this is encouraging us to step outside of our comfort zones and known territories. Saturn- the old time God- is letting us know that time is an illusion- everything is always in a constant state of change, so while this lunation will be heavy, know that you are exactly where you are meant to be. The mutable moon is also reminding us that while we feel like we’re in a slump- things are about to become progressively better.

The Full Moon will also be trine Uranus & Eris in Aries so a definite shock to the system will be in store. It’s time to wake up and face the reality (Saturn) of your current situation.

The Full Moon will also be square Neptune which indicates an existential crisis might occur. Use creativity to help your situation. There is a great need to be honest with your higher self- if need be, call upon your guides for help. Now is not the time to get swept away by feelings of inertia. Use the intuitive and imaginative energies of Neptune to think outside of the box.

Saturn is almost always depicted as an old man with a long grey beard holding a scythe. He is the timekeeper- the grim reaper who appears when it’s “time” for a journey to end (a.k.a- Saturn Returns). This Full Moon is a grandfather clock made out of a box- Sagittarius & Neptune are going to allow us to tear open the box we have locked ourselves in and experience a change of scenery…….even if that scenery is merely in our heads (Gemini Sun).

2017 has been tough for many of us. We all entered this 1 universal year with the hopes of experiencing so many wonderful new things, but in order to welcome in the new, we must first let go of the old. 2016 is when the “old” became obvious to us. This year we have the task of literally clearing out of all of the old.  We might have packed away everything that is no longer serving us, but we now have to confront the new. If you want to experience change, then stop hoarding boxes filled with old outdated ideas and recycle them into something positive and inspiring.

The Full Moon in Sagittarius will help us to see outside of these cardboard prisons while the Saturn conjunction will be offering us a pair of box cutters.

Are you ready for change?

New Moon in Taurus April 26, 2017: Let Them Eat Cake!

Moonbeams- nurture yourself, presence, mindfulness

New Moons in Taurus are always about taking time for yourself to indulge, by practicing mindfulness through being present in each and every moment. Venus the ruler of Taurus will still be in its shadow phase during this time conjunct Chiron in Pisces a 29 degrees signifying the cusp of great change with regards to self worth before moving back into Aries. Seeing as there is strong Neptunian energy during this NM, there is a certain mystical threshold that is being crossed, synchronicity’s, dreams, divination, déjà vu will all be very heightened. Saturn still at the galactic centre is representing a major shift in the space time continuum where the future, present, and past are colliding, creating out of body experiences for us. We don’t have any control over this, but what we do have is the fixed earth energy of Taurus which is teaching us a major lesson of being present and rooted in our nature. Coming back into our bodies is in itself a spiritual practice because our 5 senses allow us to stay connected to our earthy sensuous being, creating a fertile ground for new roots to take hold. The polarity of Taurus is Scorpio which is forcing us to let go of co-dependency- depending on spirit to bring us the answers we need. Everything we need to know is within ourselves. Self reliance is Taurean energy in its rawest form. If we are not grounded, it doesn’t matter how much information is being downloaded. We have a choice during this New Moon of whether we are going to embrace the lessons of Taurus’ ruler Venus from its retrograde cycle of loving ourselves by honouring our needs by listening to our inner voice (Taurus-throat), or are we going to get lost in the Piscean current? As Marie Antoinette (archetype of self indulgence)- who had her Venus in Scorpio said- “let them eat cake”, a.k.a, let us get real with ourselves by understanding that we have all the information we need going forward, so let’s make the most of it!

Set intentions around trusting your voice

New Moon in Aries Oracle

Anna Karenina is not simply a tale of aristocratic rendezvous, satin petticoat dresses, glitzy ballrooms, and lies and betrayals as cold as a Russian winter, rather, this is a story about self autonomy, the major lesson of our New Moon in Aries. Anna (Aries) refused to let the social codes of Russian aristocracy (Libra) rule her life, rather she followed the dictates of her heart to the extreme, purposely rebelling against society,  rather than upholding her responsibility as a mother. Anna needed to uphold her role as a mother to ensure the well being of her son, but Anna wanted to freely follow her passion, which involved having an affair. Anna’s misaligned values ultimately led to her downfall. Our New Moon in Aries conjunct Venus Rx in Aries is offering us an opportunity to check in with our hearts to ensure that we are not needing our wants, but wanting our needs. This is the alchemical code for self-autonomy, when we are able to forge ahead with our passions that are truly in alignment with the essence of who we are. Anna was insistent that love trumped duty, but it was her dutiful commitment to love rather than her love of duty that saw her fall from grace. What’s ironic is that there is something admirable about following your heart even when it’s looked down upon from the Libran mirror. When we embrace the pioneering spirit of Anna Karenina by being true to ourselves and values, only then will true love and passion prevail.

New Moon in Aries: Soul Soil

3:57 AM UT- March 28

10:57pm ET- March 27

7:57pm PDT- March 27
Moonbeams- new beginnings, fertilization, self-love.

This lunation marks the beginning of a new moon cycle in our cosmic new year. This is the perfect time to start setting some new year’s resolutions and for some soul gardening as I like to call it. New Moons are always about following your dreams without hesitation, and without balance. With 6 planets in Aries right now, Sun, Moon, Venus, Eris, Uranus, and Mercury, this is adding a warrior like energy to the mix. Aries marks the beginning of the zodiac and the creation point. Aries is the child of the cosmos. It is through the innocence of this sign that makes it in fact, the most mature sign of Astrology. It is when we are young that we are not moulded or shaped by external conditionings. We gravitate towards our passions, and we live and breath our purpose, given the right conditions. That connection to source is what endows us with its wisdom. We have integrated the spiritual downloads of Pisces and are now ready to set them on fire in Aries and to ground them into reality in Taurus.

As I mentioned, New Moons are not about balance. This is not the time to ways the pros and cons or to listen to what everyone else has to say. We are to find something we are passionate about and to just go for it! What makes this moon a little tricky, is that we have Venus in Aries Retrograde conjunct the moon at this time. We are weeding out the garden, re-evaluating our lives, figuring out who we are. Once the garden has been weeded out, we are then able to add some fertilizer to the soil. This is where the masculine energy of Mars comes into effect. Mars contains all of the nutrients we need to make a healthy flowerbed. Passion, drive, energy, and innocence, and self-love. The challenge with Mars is that if we don’t know who we are and what we want, then the passion, drive, and energy don’t have anywhere to go. Mars is in Taurus, the sign ruled by Libra, and doesn’t know quite what to do in the earthy mansion.Since Venus and Mars can’t see each other at this time, both planets have to integrate the energies of their opposites, and to learn the lessons of their opposites. This is when Mars needs to go inwards and light the internal flame. The fumes of this fire will be self-love. Like a flower, Venus needs the light of love to turn its attention to, just like flowers use heliotropism to absorb the rays of the sun. Jupiter in Libra retrograde opposite this lunation is asking us to integrate the masculine and feminine, and with the fumes of self-love satisfying the airy energy of Libra, you can count on this New Moon as being a major self-love journey.

The overall oppositional energy of the New Moon in Aries of it not wanting balance, but needing balance due to the Venus conjunction, is the overall theme of this year. Through understanding who we are by working with opposing energies, we can then align our wants with our needs and vice a versa. When the two become aligned, this is self-autonomy in its purest form, and the major lesson of Venus in Aries retrograde. Wanting our needs will be the roots that take hold.
