Full Moon in Libra April 19, 2019: Light Spectrum

The Full Moon in Libra is occurring at 29 degrees Libra which is an anaretic degree, so the push to harmonize and bring together seemingly separate things is at its strongest…not to mention this our second Full Moon in Libra in 2019. The Moon is about to enter the watery depths of zero degrees Scorpio- where the water is murky and black, where we will need to explore these new depths, where light can be located.

The 29th degree of the Moon speaks about an accumulation of energy, or we can say justice since the Moon is in Libra. But what is justice?

The Symbols

The Sabian Symbol for 29 Libra is: Libra 30: Three Mounds of Knowledge on a Philosopher’s Head

This is about getting out of our heads and seeing the bigger picture. It’s about seeing the truth of a situation and there is nothing more truthful than justice (Libra).

The Kozminsky Symbol for this FM is: 30º Libra: A boy moping over his book in a schoolroom.
Denotes one who will have to wake up else he will be elbowed out of everything by others more vigorous. He is possessed of good mental qualities, is well-mannered and good-natured, but he allows others to take advantage of him, and he will suffer from deceit and unfairness. It is a symbol of Sluggishness.

This symbol is also about taking a step back to blur your eyes so you can truly see what is in front of you. The sluggishness is about a softening of the gaze.

The Aspects

The only major aspect during this FM is the Moon opposition to Uranus. This means we will have a strong need to go it alone and in order for us to bring together the “three mounds of knowledge” – Heaven, Earth, & Man.

The dispositor of the FM is Venus at 28 degrees Pisces. The Sabian Symbol for her is:

Pisces 29: The Light Passing Through A Prism

This is about acknowledging the connection between all things. It’s about understanding the relationship (Libra) between the whole and the parts. It’s about seeing how everything is connected. Venus is just one degree past its exaltation point so it speaks about the light of the universe being found in our heart. We have to appreciate the beauty of inter-connectedness. When we are able to truly see the balance of life “as above so below, as without so within,” miracles happen.

There is a beautiful quote from the book/film ‘Winter’s Tale’ which evokes the energy of this lunation:

Justice can sleep for years and awaken when it is least expected. A miracle is nothing more than dormant justice from another time arriving to compensate those it has cruelly abandoned.”- Winter’s Tale, Mark Halprin

To Conclude…

The Full Moon in Libra is asking us to believe in ourselves and the luminous connections we radiate out of our heart. To believe in yourself is to believe in heaven, earth, and humanity. It’s about believing in love.

Take some time during this Full Moon to think about everything you are connected to. Start with a person who is close to you and map out every person that person knows. Try it with an object, or a place, or something close to your heart. You will see that those things that mean something to you are but beams of love who form connecting prisms of light with every other thing in this world. The scales of justice are a light spectrum, we can only see the entirety of light by coming to a balanced place within our hearts first.

Once again here is another quote from ‘Winter’s Tale.’

“All rivers run full to the sea; those who are apart are brought together; the lost ones are redeemed; the dead come back to life; the perfectly blue days that have begun and ended in golden dimness continue, immobile and accessible; and, when all is perceived in such a way as to obviate time, justice becomes apparent not as something that will be, but something that is.” – Winter’s Tale, Mark Halprin

New Moon in Aries April 5, 2019: Wildflowers

The New Moon in Aries after the Spring Equinox is the official start of the new year! The energies attached to this lunation will plant the seeds of what the next 12 months will be sprouting. This particular New Moon is asking us to put down our roots before we start forcing growth.

The Aspects

New Moon square Saturn, Pluto, South Node in Capricorn- is the garden we are trying to grow in fertile enough to support our growth?

New Moon trine Ceres- it’s time to start plucking out the weeds and clipping back the dead parts in order to stimulate new growth

Mercury conjunct Neptune in Pisces- visualize your blooms, but understand that blossoms have a short life span. The process of growing is more important than what is actually revealed.

The Kozminsky symbol for this New Moon is:

16º Aries: Wild flowers growing amidst the corn in a sunlit field.

Denotes a person of charm, a lover of freedom- mental and physical-of nature, and of simple loveliness whose works in life will be blessed with success, and whose individuality will make itself felt amongst men. It is a symbol of Abundance.

Aries energy is impulsive, pioneering, energetic, and fierce but the difficult aspect to the stellium in Capricorn is reminding us to direct our energies to sustaining our growth. This means we must be patient, resourceful, creative, and committed to our long term vision no matter how difficult things may get.

As the Kozminsky symbol says, we must look to wildflowers as inspiration. They grow where the conditions are right for them, not necessarily where they want to grow. Rather than forcing things to happen, let’s adapt to the conditions that arise because the winds of change are blowing from Capricorn, so let’s be open to and accepting of where our seeds germinate, because that’s the fertile ground where our visions and ideas will bloom.

New Moon in Pisces March 6, 2019: Sea Salt

This New Moon in Pisces is going to evaporate its dreamy noxious moisture into tangible understanding.

The Aspects

Sun conjunct Neptune- ability to understand spiritual information and to integrate it

Sun sextile Mars- confidence to chase new dreams and inspirations

Sun sextile Saturn-persevering

Mars trine Saturn-strength

Mars sextile Neptune- making a difference

Saturn sextile Neptune- seeing the bigger picture

During the New Moon in Pisces Mercury will be retrograde also in Pisces and the Sun and Moon will be opposing Mercury’s exaltation point at 15 degrees Virgo. The biggest lesson of this lunation is that we must use our dreams to help heal others. Your dreams should be for a greater cause and purpose. If they are not, they will materialize into deceptive things.

This is the perfect shimmering moment to check in with your dreams and aspirations to see if they align with something bigger than yourself or to see if they are only for yourself. In order to properly utilize Piscean energy we must have empathy, compassion, service, and love.

Sea salt is salt that is produced by the evaporation of seawater, so will your Piscean waters produce something tangible and multipurpose, or will they merely evaporate into deeper illusions and fantasies?

Full Moon in Virgo February 18, 2019: The Reaping

Moonbeams: Harvesting our karmic lessons, healing our wounds around self-acceptance, and moving forward.

The Full Moon in Virgo will be occuring at the cusp of 1 degree of Virgo. Whenever we have a transit in the first degree of a sign we experience powerful new karmic beginnings. While Full Moon’s are about completion, we must remember that the New Moon in Virgo we had in September had a heavy 9 energy to it…the number of karmic endings. So there seems to be a role reversal between these two lunations. This means that a karmic cycle is completing. What was going on in your life in September 2018? Let’s not forget that in that same month, Chiron went retrograde in Pisces, illuminating the Virgo- Pisces axis.

The Aspects

Moon trine Uranus- breaking free

Mars conjunct Uranus- unleashing the fires

Saturn sextile Neptune- patience, seeing something through

Mercury conjunct Neptune- fact vs. fiction

Venus conjunct Saturn- needing self-love

Virgo is the sign of purity and perfection and the aspects during this FM are cleansing our lives of self-restraint and martyrdom. The day before this FM, Chiron re-entered Aries after being retrograde in Pisces since September. Chiron RX in Pisces was about helping us understand that we cannot wait in the water because life will just pass us by. Self- sacrifice is fine as long as you are whole to begin with. The healing waters of Chiron and Pisces have now been replaced by the purifying fires of Aries. You can read more about this transit here. Also on the day before the FM the Sun entered Pisces, helping us to detach for perspective and Venus conjunct Saturn. This conjunction is about giving up self-crticism in favour of self-trust. So you can see that leading up to the FM we had some cleansing already beginning.

The Reaping

1º Virgo: A traveling pilgrim leaning on his staff, which he holds in his left hand, addressing a small band of men & women.
Denotes one whose early life is threatened by the elements and who will be compelled to endure sufferings, hardships, and trials as an atonement for remote past acts. If his destiny is to live, his destiny is to overcome, and he will be a wise instructor and guide to his fellow-men. It is a symbol of Repaying.

If we look at the Kozminsky symbol for this FM it’s symbol is atonement. This is about paying off karmic debts and finally soothing the past and any regrets or failures we may experienced. I’m expecting many people to make great progress in the Pisces\Virgo ruled areas of their lives during the two weeks the FM is active. If you have been feeling stuck in this axis, prepare to say goodbye to its stagnation.

Virgo rules the harvest because it’s time to reap what we have sown.

I’d also like to mention that the Full Moon is conjunct the royal star Regulus. In many occult rituals the crowning occurs after self-sacrifice has occurred. Expect to wear a crown after all the martyrdom you’ve experienced with Chiron retrograde in Pisces. If you’d like to learn more about this ritual, I’d recommend you watch the horror film ‘Hereditary’ on Netflix which is all about the dark side of the Virgo/Pisces axis.

Lunar Eclipse January 21, 2019: Courage

Date: Monday, January  21, 2019

Times:

  • Los Angeles – January 20, 9:16 pm
  • New York – January 21, 12:16 am
  • London – January 21, 5:16 am
  • Delhi – January 21, 10:46 am
  • Sydney – January 21, 4:16 pm

Moonbeams: Hold your head up high, adjust your crown, and lead your life with dignity and courage.

The Lunar Eclipse on January 21, 2019 is not only a Full Moon, but a super moon and bloodmoon unleashing a series of fireworks to mark the grand finale of the eclipses in Leo we have had since 2017. This eclipse will be happening at 0 degrees Leo, adding a royal flair to this lunation. There is an opportunity for regality being offered to us which will ask the question “is the stability of the norm more important than the freedom of courage?”

This particular eclipse will also be a blood moon due to the reddish tinge that will cover the moon as its passing behind Earth’s shadow. Blood Moons have a long history with being connected to important biblical and world events, and I would recommend googling this for further information.I think of Blood Moons as frequencies that change the DNA of our karmic experiences. They are sort of like flabotumists who extract some of our blood for analysis. The Blood Moon is a way to deliver some brand new experiences on our karmic journeys that have waited for a specific divine time to do so. The Blood Moon is now the time to welcome in the new. A new blood supply is coming. Our results from our blood test from the past 1.5 years, have finally come in.

The Aspects

Moon square Uranus- impatient and impulsive

Mercury square Uranus- unexpected information

Sun sextile Ceres- planting new seeds

Moon trine Ceres- upholding tradition

Pull Your Crown Up Over Your Eyes

The eclipse will be quite Uranian in nature which the fixed energy of Leo does not enjoy. There is a disruptive energy present at this time which is forcing us to confront our emotional limitations. This is what every full moon asks of us, but there are heavier long term implications with an eclipse. Leo is a regal sign that must learn the lessons of courage. With all of the unsettling Uranian influences, we are being pushed out of our royal carriages in order to see the real world. The Kozminsky symbol speaks to this:

1º Leo: A king stepping from his carriage receiving a document from a group of citizens.
Denotes one who will be enabled to grant or to refuse to grant the wishes of others. He will reach a position of importance and will receive many honors, and benefits will accrue to him. The demand is for an understanding of the use, not the abuse, of power. It is a symbol of Authority.

As I mentioned in the beginnning of this report the question is

“is the stability of the norm more important than the freedom of courage?”

Eclipses push us into new experiences that are meant to accelerate our growth. As the final Leo eclipse, we must be courageous in the area of our lives that is ruled by Leo. Royals have a very delicate balance to maintain. They must uphold the stability of the crown while continuing to evolve and appeal to the modern times they find themselves in. We must do the same.

Grand Finale

So the bloodmoon lunar eclipse is going to make the King have blood on his hands- but will it be because he has ignored the need to modernize or will it be because he has taken the risk to involve himself in the outer world? Leo energy always helps to remind us of who we are. Step into your power and sit on the throne that is your heart. When we allow courage to be our driving force, passion is what rules our kingdom.

Full Moon in Gemini November 22, 2018: Twinning Ideas

Moonbeams: Looks are deceiving

Lesson to be Learned: Belief is a sexy form of control when your motivations are fear based. When your thoughts and beliefs are passionate, your motivations are hopeful.

The Full Moon in Gemini is teaching everyone to slow down and sustain ideas by using power instead of force. It’s easy to be conned by our ideas and beliefs when we are acting out of fear instead of passion. So ask yourself the following questions:

“is the idea more important than the result?”

“can I accept that it could fail?”

“will hastiness somehow make the idea better?”

“does it make me feel excited or nervous?”

“what are the pros and con’s?”

The Aspects

Full Moon square Mars- anger and frustration

Moon opposite Jupiter- overenthusiastic

Mars square Jupiter- chasing a conquest

The ruler of the FM is Mercury who is retrograde in Sagittarius. This is making us rethink ideas that have become a bit fanatical. The aspects during this lunation are showing that we are feeling very fired up about ideas and beliefs and yet we have no raw manifesting power at this time. It can feel like you are arguing with yourself, trying to convince yourself that your ideas and thoughts are the real deal. Let’s keep in mind that Mercury is the trickster so what seems to be good and true is in fact not 100% accurate.

Mars has the loudest voice during the Full Moon and with him in the sign of Pisces, we have to let our burning thoughts cool off for a while in the watery domain of “let go and flow.”

Remember that every idea has a positive and negative side and fighting for one at the expense of the other will fracture or split the idea leaving you with nothing in the end. Let stuff come up but don’t get emotionally attached to it, because for all you know, what you’re fighting for could be the evil twin masquerading as the good twin.

New Moon in Scorpio November 7th, 2018: Passion Play

The theme of the NM in Scorpio is about bringing your dreams up to the surface. The aspects are telling you that passion is what motivates you to achieve your dreams. It’s a busy week in the cosmos as the nodal axis will be moving into Cancer/Capricorn for 1.5 years on November 7th and Jupiter will be moving into Sagittarius for 1 year on November 8th. These are big shifts that will help you nurture your aspirations.

Aspects

NM trine Neptune- a dream is a wish your heart makes

NM sextile Pluto- self- acceptance

Venus trine Mars- your values are your new motivation

Jupiter quincunx Uranus- different is the new normal

Jupiter trine North Node- opening your mind aligns you

The NM at 15 degrees Scorpio is a heavy energy suggesting that you are feeling burdened by your dreams. How often do your passions become weights when you choose to ignore them? My advice is to play with your passions. The positive energies of the planets are ripe for imagination. Take time to explore and analyze all that your passions have to offer and visualize your dreams coming true.

New Moon in Virgo September 9, 2018: The Nines

The New Moon in Virgo on September 9, 2018 features some supportive energies meant to propel you into a new phase beginning this October.

The Aspects

New Moon opposite Neptune- this is a luminous influence that will help you step into your magic. Just when you thought you knew who you were, Neptune comes in and makes you believe you are confused and lost. Reflect.

New Moon sextile Jupiter- optimism and enthusiasm

New Moon trine Pluto- an archaelogical dig of your emotions will take place. Reflecting on your summer is favourable now.

Jupiter sextile Pluto- upgrading

The Nines

September 2018 is a 9 universal month. This number has a lot of negative associations as it is the number of completion, release, reflection, and endings. It can be a heavy energy, but we are being blessed with spell binding aspects during this New Moon. According to Pythagoras, he called the 9 “ocean and the horizon” because it had all the numbers within it and none beyond it, as the ocean contained all the water and all that is within the water and continued to the horizon as far as man could see. For after 9 is 10. All numbers following when added together to the last digit cannot produce a number higher than 9 as its root. So it returns itself as water to the ocean. Ironically, the most important aspects during this New Moon involves the watery planets Neptune and Pluto. So we are coming into ourselves.  Let’s not forget that Saturn also turned direct on September 6th which helps us move forward on newly renoed foundations. Venus also entered its shadow phase this week, kick-starting a deep alchemical process of shedding the old and welcoming in the new.

To Conclude…

The New Moon in Virgo is a 9 month energy on the 9th day of September. We are traversing the liminal boundaries of our world and the great potential that awaits us coming up this October when we enter a 1 universal month.

Virgo energy is here to refine, serve, and heal, so let’s not tell ourselves that we have to sacrifice our happiness and self-care at the expense of the 9 energy. Virgo is an earth sign and the way we handle its energy constitutes our understanding of the lessons we should have learned first inwardly. This New Moon is an initiation. Each 9 we come to is an initiation to a new cycle, because what follows is 10, the number of our gravitational field.

Lammas: Bun in the Oven

What is Lammas?

During August, the grain- the staff of life grows ready to harvest. The great goddess appears with her sickle. Her womb produces berries, fruits, grains, and the most potent herbs. Her companion the Sun God, no longer shows his gentle brightly radiating figure, he is now fiery, burns hotly, and is drying. The Celts called him Lugh, the smart and skillful god, the master of all arts, the Lion with the Quiet Hand. It is he who brings everything to fullness and ripeness with his flame and his wisdom. He symbolizes the receding year, the west where the Sun sets in red-hot embers. Under his reign the grain grows golden, the fruit becomes sweet and red yellow, the herbs become spicier and stronger than at midsummer. But the Sun god is also the ruthless harvester, the reaper, who finishes off the green and budding life with his heat. Lugh and the goddess of the Earth celebrated a wedding during the full moon of August and invited people to celebrate with them. The festival of Lugh was a fire festival during which huge piles of wood were ignited. This tradition endured among the insular Celts for many years. – From the book ‘Witchcraft Medicine’ by Claudis Muller-Ebeling, Christian Ratsch, & Wolf-Dieter Storl

There was also a more crude aspect to this festival involving the cutting up of a corpse, but I’ll spare you the gross details.

Lammas was the occasion for blessing all the herbs that would be needed during the coming year for health and well-being of the house and stable. It also made good sense to collect the herbs during the dog days of summer because the aroma, taste, and medicine are manifestations of the powerful light and warmth of vegetation. The Sun infused the herbs and plants with its healing rays.

The Wheel of the Year

The Pagan Wheel of the Year brings us now the harvest festival on August 1st known as Lughnasadh or Lammas as it is commonly referred to as.

If you have been following my Pagan Wheel of the Year journey, you will have seen that I have related the sabbats to the process of creation. The last point on our calendar was the Summer Solstice- Ensoulment, the time of the year where our creation was given a soul. Now we come to the harvest season, where we are offered the opportunity to reflect back on our journey and to see the fruits of our labour, and the wheat of our harvest.

Our creation has just entered the 7 month point. We are close to giving birth to our creation at the Winter Solstice. In a normal pregnancy, the 7 month point is when the Mother can start to feel anxious and excited. The due date is only 3 months away. What was created at Imbolc is now becoming a reality.

Astrology of Lammas

Astrologically, Lammas occurs when the Sun reaches 15 degrees Leo. This is the halfway point in a fixed sign, meaning the ability to rebirth ourselves is heightened. Leo connects to the heart chakra and the qualities of courage, gratitude, and abundance. Lammas is the perfect time to reflect on these themes and how they have showed up or not showed up in your life.

To go back to the myth of Lammas, the Celtic god of light- Lugh and son of the Sun, he transfers his power into the grain and is sacrificed when the grain is harvested. The art of creation is one of the most selfless acts we as souls can partake in because we ultimately do not know the outcome. Let’s not forget that a balanced Leo energy is selfless, and not selfish like how most of us have experienced Leo energy. Remember the myth of Lugh, the Sun God who chooses to set so the fruits and wheat can harvest is an example of selflessness that Lammas inspires.

Celebrate Lammas by doing an energetic detox. We can only best serve others when we ourselves are in a healthy state. An energetic detox is kick-started when you finally cut back on those sweets, or when you start exercising, or starting a gratitude journal. Our bodies have been imprinted with the spiritual rays of the Sun all summer and it is during Lammas and the month of August when we start to visibly notice less daylight. With all of the solar energy we have gathered, now is the time to commence the healing.

To Conclude…

For most of us in North America, August is not the time of year when we go out into the fields to harvest wheat, or start buying pumpkins, and corn husks to decorate our front porches. It’s still very warm. But there is a shift that happens, whereby, the fun times of the Summer are slowly winding down as parents start preparing their kids for back to school, and stores start their end of summer sales. Naturally, we all start to reflect on the previous months and start making plans for Autumn. Lammas is the perfect time to make a gratitude list and count your blessings.

A typical way to celebrate Lammas is to bake a loaf of bread using the wheat harvested in early August. We can equate this to baking the frequency we received at Imbolc in our own ovens- providing it with the right conditions so it can make the best of its last 3 months. Wheat symbolizes the spermatic power of the staff of life, thus nearing the end of the pregnancy, I suspect most people can appreciate the divine process of creation. The sperm is essentially in the process of being harvested at Lammas. I suppose this is where the saying “bun in the oven” comes from.

FINIS

Emma Wheeler Wilcox has a beautiful poem that captures the energy of Lammas.

YOU NEVER CAN TELL

YOU never can tell when you send a word–
Like an arrow shot from a bow
By an archer blind– be it cruel or kind,
Just where it will chance to go.
It may pierce the breast of your dearest friend,
Tipped with its poison or balm;
To a stranger’s heart in life’s great mart
It may carry its pain or its calm.

You never can tell when you do an act
   Just what the result will be;
But with every deed you are sowing a seed,
Though the harvest you may not see. …………………………………………..Leo selflessness
Each kindly act is an acorn dropped
   In God’s productive soil;
You may not know, yet the tree shall grow
And shelter the brows that toil.

You never can tell what your thoughts will do
In bringing you hate or love;
For thoughts are things, and their airy wings
Are swifter than carrier doves.
They follow the law of the universe–
Each thing must create its kind;
And they speed o’er the track to bring you back
Whatever went out from your mind.
