Lunar Eclipse January 21, 2019: Courage

Date: Monday, January  21, 2019

Times:

  • Los Angeles – January 20, 9:16 pm
  • New York – January 21, 12:16 am
  • London – January 21, 5:16 am
  • Delhi – January 21, 10:46 am
  • Sydney – January 21, 4:16 pm

Moonbeams: Hold your head up high, adjust your crown, and lead your life with dignity and courage.

The Lunar Eclipse on January 21, 2019 is not only a Full Moon, but a super moon and bloodmoon unleashing a series of fireworks to mark the grand finale of the eclipses in Leo we have had since 2017. This eclipse will be happening at 0 degrees Leo, adding a royal flair to this lunation. There is an opportunity for regality being offered to us which will ask the question “is the stability of the norm more important than the freedom of courage?”

This particular eclipse will also be a blood moon due to the reddish tinge that will cover the moon as its passing behind Earth’s shadow. Blood Moons have a long history with being connected to important biblical and world events, and I would recommend googling this for further information.I think of Blood Moons as frequencies that change the DNA of our karmic experiences. They are sort of like flabotumists who extract some of our blood for analysis. The Blood Moon is a way to deliver some brand new experiences on our karmic journeys that have waited for a specific divine time to do so. The Blood Moon is now the time to welcome in the new. A new blood supply is coming. Our results from our blood test from the past 1.5 years, have finally come in.

The Aspects

Moon square Uranus- impatient and impulsive

Mercury square Uranus- unexpected information

Sun sextile Ceres- planting new seeds

Moon trine Ceres- upholding tradition

Pull Your Crown Up Over Your Eyes

The eclipse will be quite Uranian in nature which the fixed energy of Leo does not enjoy. There is a disruptive energy present at this time which is forcing us to confront our emotional limitations. This is what every full moon asks of us, but there are heavier long term implications with an eclipse. Leo is a regal sign that must learn the lessons of courage. With all of the unsettling Uranian influences, we are being pushed out of our royal carriages in order to see the real world. The Kozminsky symbol speaks to this:

1º Leo: A king stepping from his carriage receiving a document from a group of citizens.
Denotes one who will be enabled to grant or to refuse to grant the wishes of others. He will reach a position of importance and will receive many honors, and benefits will accrue to him. The demand is for an understanding of the use, not the abuse, of power. It is a symbol of Authority.

As I mentioned in the beginnning of this report the question is

“is the stability of the norm more important than the freedom of courage?”

Eclipses push us into new experiences that are meant to accelerate our growth. As the final Leo eclipse, we must be courageous in the area of our lives that is ruled by Leo. Royals have a very delicate balance to maintain. They must uphold the stability of the crown while continuing to evolve and appeal to the modern times they find themselves in. We must do the same.

Grand Finale

So the bloodmoon lunar eclipse is going to make the King have blood on his hands- but will it be because he has ignored the need to modernize or will it be because he has taken the risk to involve himself in the outer world? Leo energy always helps to remind us of who we are. Step into your power and sit on the throne that is your heart. When we allow courage to be our driving force, passion is what rules our kingdom.

Full Moon in Gemini November 22, 2018: Twinning Ideas

Moonbeams: Looks are deceiving

Lesson to be Learned: Belief is a sexy form of control when your motivations are fear based. When your thoughts and beliefs are passionate, your motivations are hopeful.

The Full Moon in Gemini is teaching everyone to slow down and sustain ideas by using power instead of force. It’s easy to be conned by our ideas and beliefs when we are acting out of fear instead of passion. So ask yourself the following questions:

“is the idea more important than the result?”

“can I accept that it could fail?”

“will hastiness somehow make the idea better?”

“does it make me feel excited or nervous?”

“what are the pros and con’s?”

The Aspects

Full Moon square Mars- anger and frustration

Moon opposite Jupiter- overenthusiastic

Mars square Jupiter- chasing a conquest

The ruler of the FM is Mercury who is retrograde in Sagittarius. This is making us rethink ideas that have become a bit fanatical. The aspects during this lunation are showing that we are feeling very fired up about ideas and beliefs and yet we have no raw manifesting power at this time. It can feel like you are arguing with yourself, trying to convince yourself that your ideas and thoughts are the real deal. Let’s keep in mind that Mercury is the trickster so what seems to be good and true is in fact not 100% accurate.

Mars has the loudest voice during the Full Moon and with him in the sign of Pisces, we have to let our burning thoughts cool off for a while in the watery domain of “let go and flow.”

Remember that every idea has a positive and negative side and fighting for one at the expense of the other will fracture or split the idea leaving you with nothing in the end. Let stuff come up but don’t get emotionally attached to it, because for all you know, what you’re fighting for could be the evil twin masquerading as the good twin.

New Moon in Scorpio November 7th, 2018: Passion Play

The theme of the NM in Scorpio is about bringing your dreams up to the surface. The aspects are telling you that passion is what motivates you to achieve your dreams. It’s a busy week in the cosmos as the nodal axis will be moving into Cancer/Capricorn for 1.5 years on November 7th and Jupiter will be moving into Sagittarius for 1 year on November 8th. These are big shifts that will help you nurture your aspirations.

Aspects

NM trine Neptune- a dream is a wish your heart makes

NM sextile Pluto- self- acceptance

Venus trine Mars- your values are your new motivation

Jupiter quincunx Uranus- different is the new normal

Jupiter trine North Node- opening your mind aligns you

The NM at 15 degrees Scorpio is a heavy energy suggesting that you are feeling burdened by your dreams. How often do your passions become weights when you choose to ignore them? My advice is to play with your passions. The positive energies of the planets are ripe for imagination. Take time to explore and analyze all that your passions have to offer and visualize your dreams coming true.

New Moon in Virgo September 9, 2018: The Nines

The New Moon in Virgo on September 9, 2018 features some supportive energies meant to propel you into a new phase beginning this October.

The Aspects

New Moon opposite Neptune- this is a luminous influence that will help you step into your magic. Just when you thought you knew who you were, Neptune comes in and makes you believe you are confused and lost. Reflect.

New Moon sextile Jupiter- optimism and enthusiasm

New Moon trine Pluto- an archaelogical dig of your emotions will take place. Reflecting on your summer is favourable now.

Jupiter sextile Pluto- upgrading

The Nines

September 2018 is a 9 universal month. This number has a lot of negative associations as it is the number of completion, release, reflection, and endings. It can be a heavy energy, but we are being blessed with spell binding aspects during this New Moon. According to Pythagoras, he called the 9 “ocean and the horizon” because it had all the numbers within it and none beyond it, as the ocean contained all the water and all that is within the water and continued to the horizon as far as man could see. For after 9 is 10. All numbers following when added together to the last digit cannot produce a number higher than 9 as its root. So it returns itself as water to the ocean. Ironically, the most important aspects during this New Moon involves the watery planets Neptune and Pluto. So we are coming into ourselves.  Let’s not forget that Saturn also turned direct on September 6th which helps us move forward on newly renoed foundations. Venus also entered its shadow phase this week, kick-starting a deep alchemical process of shedding the old and welcoming in the new.

To Conclude…

The New Moon in Virgo is a 9 month energy on the 9th day of September. We are traversing the liminal boundaries of our world and the great potential that awaits us coming up this October when we enter a 1 universal month.

Virgo energy is here to refine, serve, and heal, so let’s not tell ourselves that we have to sacrifice our happiness and self-care at the expense of the 9 energy. Virgo is an earth sign and the way we handle its energy constitutes our understanding of the lessons we should have learned first inwardly. This New Moon is an initiation. Each 9 we come to is an initiation to a new cycle, because what follows is 10, the number of our gravitational field.

Lammas: Bun in the Oven

What is Lammas?

During August, the grain- the staff of life grows ready to harvest. The great goddess appears with her sickle. Her womb produces berries, fruits, grains, and the most potent herbs. Her companion the Sun God, no longer shows his gentle brightly radiating figure, he is now fiery, burns hotly, and is drying. The Celts called him Lugh, the smart and skillful god, the master of all arts, the Lion with the Quiet Hand. It is he who brings everything to fullness and ripeness with his flame and his wisdom. He symbolizes the receding year, the west where the Sun sets in red-hot embers. Under his reign the grain grows golden, the fruit becomes sweet and red yellow, the herbs become spicier and stronger than at midsummer. But the Sun god is also the ruthless harvester, the reaper, who finishes off the green and budding life with his heat. Lugh and the goddess of the Earth celebrated a wedding during the full moon of August and invited people to celebrate with them. The festival of Lugh was a fire festival during which huge piles of wood were ignited. This tradition endured among the insular Celts for many years. – From the book ‘Witchcraft Medicine’ by Claudis Muller-Ebeling, Christian Ratsch, & Wolf-Dieter Storl

There was also a more crude aspect to this festival involving the cutting up of a corpse, but I’ll spare you the gross details.

Lammas was the occasion for blessing all the herbs that would be needed during the coming year for health and well-being of the house and stable. It also made good sense to collect the herbs during the dog days of summer because the aroma, taste, and medicine are manifestations of the powerful light and warmth of vegetation. The Sun infused the herbs and plants with its healing rays.

The Wheel of the Year

The Pagan Wheel of the Year brings us now the harvest festival on August 1st known as Lughnasadh or Lammas as it is commonly referred to as.

If you have been following my Pagan Wheel of the Year journey, you will have seen that I have related the sabbats to the process of creation. The last point on our calendar was the Summer Solstice- Ensoulment, the time of the year where our creation was given a soul. Now we come to the harvest season, where we are offered the opportunity to reflect back on our journey and to see the fruits of our labour, and the wheat of our harvest.

Our creation has just entered the 7 month point. We are close to giving birth to our creation at the Winter Solstice. In a normal pregnancy, the 7 month point is when the Mother can start to feel anxious and excited. The due date is only 3 months away. What was created at Imbolc is now becoming a reality.

Astrology of Lammas

Astrologically, Lammas occurs when the Sun reaches 15 degrees Leo. This is the halfway point in a fixed sign, meaning the ability to rebirth ourselves is heightened. Leo connects to the heart chakra and the qualities of courage, gratitude, and abundance. Lammas is the perfect time to reflect on these themes and how they have showed up or not showed up in your life.

To go back to the myth of Lammas, the Celtic god of light- Lugh and son of the Sun, he transfers his power into the grain and is sacrificed when the grain is harvested. The art of creation is one of the most selfless acts we as souls can partake in because we ultimately do not know the outcome. Let’s not forget that a balanced Leo energy is selfless, and not selfish like how most of us have experienced Leo energy. Remember the myth of Lugh, the Sun God who chooses to set so the fruits and wheat can harvest is an example of selflessness that Lammas inspires.

Celebrate Lammas by doing an energetic detox. We can only best serve others when we ourselves are in a healthy state. An energetic detox is kick-started when you finally cut back on those sweets, or when you start exercising, or starting a gratitude journal. Our bodies have been imprinted with the spiritual rays of the Sun all summer and it is during Lammas and the month of August when we start to visibly notice less daylight. With all of the solar energy we have gathered, now is the time to commence the healing.

To Conclude…

For most of us in North America, August is not the time of year when we go out into the fields to harvest wheat, or start buying pumpkins, and corn husks to decorate our front porches. It’s still very warm. But there is a shift that happens, whereby, the fun times of the Summer are slowly winding down as parents start preparing their kids for back to school, and stores start their end of summer sales. Naturally, we all start to reflect on the previous months and start making plans for Autumn. Lammas is the perfect time to make a gratitude list and count your blessings.

A typical way to celebrate Lammas is to bake a loaf of bread using the wheat harvested in early August. We can equate this to baking the frequency we received at Imbolc in our own ovens- providing it with the right conditions so it can make the best of its last 3 months. Wheat symbolizes the spermatic power of the staff of life, thus nearing the end of the pregnancy, I suspect most people can appreciate the divine process of creation. The sperm is essentially in the process of being harvested at Lammas. I suppose this is where the saying “bun in the oven” comes from.

FINIS

Emma Wheeler Wilcox has a beautiful poem that captures the energy of Lammas.

YOU NEVER CAN TELL

YOU never can tell when you send a word–
Like an arrow shot from a bow
By an archer blind– be it cruel or kind,
Just where it will chance to go.
It may pierce the breast of your dearest friend,
Tipped with its poison or balm;
To a stranger’s heart in life’s great mart
It may carry its pain or its calm.

You never can tell when you do an act
   Just what the result will be;
But with every deed you are sowing a seed,
Though the harvest you may not see. …………………………………………..Leo selflessness
Each kindly act is an acorn dropped
   In God’s productive soil;
You may not know, yet the tree shall grow
And shelter the brows that toil.

You never can tell what your thoughts will do
In bringing you hate or love;
For thoughts are things, and their airy wings
Are swifter than carrier doves.
They follow the law of the universe–
Each thing must create its kind;
And they speed o’er the track to bring you back
Whatever went out from your mind.

New Moon in Aries April 16, 2018: La liberté de la lune

Date: Monday April 16, 2018

Moonbeams: Refreshing, new beginnings, shocking, unexpected, persevering

Main Lesson: With inspiration comes perspiration

The underground rebellion La Luna is preparing fora revolt against the stagnant boring regime of reality. Dramatic? I know. But this is what the New Moon in Aries is going to feel like. A revolution in our lives is coming.

The Aspects

A New Moon is when the Sun and Moon conjunct, turning the moon invisible. This is happening in the sign of Aries which is a recalibrating, refreshing, passionate, forward moving, rebirthing, independent sign. The Sun is exalted in Aries, so he is ready to initiate changes in your life. The Moon in Aries is impulsive. You’re rearing to go.

Uranus is conjunct this NM adding a cooky flavour to this lunation. Uranus is unpredictable, unusual, electric, and awakening. The Moon is already on fire, and Uranus is plugging it into its circuit of the unexpected.

Mercury is stationing direct in Aries during this NM which is also adding a very impulsive go getter feeling. Progress will start to be made after this time.

Venus in Taurus is opposite Jupiter in Scorpio which brings in the question of material vs. spiritual. We want to get going with our plans, but Jupiter wants you to look at things from a higher perspective.

Mars is in Capricorn, the composed soldier who wants the revolution to start, but conjunct Saturn and Pluto makes him frustrated because Saturn and Pluto want him to be more methodical and strategic.

Aries is the spark of inspiration and Capricorn is the manifestation of that spark. The two signs work well together, and we do have a strong emphasis of both during this NM. Saturn is stationing before he turns retrograde on April 18, so the revolution is starting now, but you won’t see the results for quite some time.

Venus trine Mars will help us infuse some love to our situation so we aren’t so frustrated and angry.

Neptune sextile Mars will quiet the energy of revolution so we can tune in to our inner world which will have some very important things to say during this time.

Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury and he is charged up at the NM and Mercury is direct. Messages in the form of synchronicity’s and inspiration will be very strong.

Things to Keep in Mind

Keep in mind that Uranus conjunct the NM will trigger unexpected events in the Aries ruled area of your life. Something will come out of the blue. Also, you might find yourself doing something out of the ordinary that shocks and surprises you. For example; if the NM is occurring in your 10th house of career, you might suddenly receive a promotion, get fired, or choose to go down a different path. It could also mean new beginnings in the life of your father.

The New Moon in Aries marks the official start of the New Year in many cultures. This is our first New Moon in Aries since the cosmic new year on the Spring Equinox. With Uranus conjunct the NM, expect the unexpected during the next 12 months. There will be a lot of surprises and shocks that will completely transform your life. Remember, Uranus is at the last few degrees in Aries before he moves into Taurus in May, so whatever he wants to shake up in your Aries house, he will be shaking up during the New Moon.

Capricorn squaring the NM indicates that restructuring is happening, but it will gradually happen over the next so many months. It’s hard to be patient when there’s so much electric energy in the air right now, but with inspiration comes perspiration.

The revolution is starting. This is more about planning out your rebellion as opposed to marching up to the castle to behead the ruler. Successful revolutions are strategic, and persevering. There’s a grumbling of change right now. In time, it will all be different. Liberation is on its way.

New Moon on Monday by Duran Duran

This song is all about an underground resistance called La Luna who are planning to overthrow the government. The lyrics are a little odd in perfect Uranian fashion, and the video depicts the energies of this NM in a cinematic music video way.

Shake up the picture the lizard mixture
With your dance on the eventide
You got me coming up with answers
All of which I deny
I said it again
But could I please rephrase it
Maybe I can catch a ride
I couldn’t really put it much plainer
But I’ll wait ’til you decide
Send me your warning siren
As if I could ever hide
Last time La Luna
I light my torch and wave it for the
New moon on Monday
And a fire dance through the night
I stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite
New moon on Monday
And a fire dance through the night
I stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite
Breaking away with the beast of both worlds
A smile that you can’t disguise
Every minute I keep finding
Clues that you leave behind
Save me from these reminders
As if I’d forget tonight
This time La Luna
I light my torch and wave it for the
New moon on Monday
And a fire dance through the night
I stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite
New moon on Monday
And a fire dance through the night
I stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite

Full Moon in Virgo March 1st 2018: Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

Moonbeams: Discernment, Materialization, Healing

Major Lesson to be Learned: Being of service to your higher self by grounding its energies into practical reality

Challenge to Overcome: Not wanting to take a hard look at yourself without your rose coloured glasses on.

The Moon will be putting on her spectacles and rolling up her sleeves during this lunation. There are 4 planets in Pisces- Sun, Neptune, Mercury, & Venus which is imbalancing the Virgo Pisces axis to an extreme. Having such a strong conglomerate of Piscean energy will require la luna to put forth some extra efforts and put on her high beams in order to see through the ethereal mist.

Like a Virgo

Virgo is an earthy sign that is methodocial, organized, self sacrificing, and analytical. It’s staring at all this mystical energy plotting how to fix it. On the other hand, Pisces is a sign of mysticism, surrender, dreams, and emotions. It’s staring at Virgo charming and luring it away from a place of rigidity to a place of flow.

Virgo Full Moons are our opportunities to clean up the Virgo ruled area of our lives. We have 1 full moon in this sign every year and every year I usually see a lot of people decluttering, cleaning, organizing, and revamping their lives. This is Virgo’s ‘sacred work.’ Being of service to yourself and humanity through letting go of material fixations and focusing on how you can help others from a place of true sincerity and humility. When a Virgo is able to properly harmonize its Piscean energy, we can see some beautiful practical magic unfold.

Sacred Work involves applying the 3 ways of the Virgo Pisces axis. Here are 3 ways to work with the energies of this moon.
93e2e21ed0ab1a2419cdd6d785d32c81
1. Intuition Precision
Have you ever wondered how it is that Virgo’s always seem to know how to plot their next move? As someone with a few Virgo’s in my family, I can honestly say that I have rarely seen them take a misstep. It’s like they can envision exactly how something is going to play out. This is because Virgo’s more than any other sign, trust their intuition. They rely on their hunches and gut feelings as a navigational tool. Being an earth sign, they will follow through on their feelings and take action. It is this precision intuition that will be illuminated for us during this full moon. Trust your instincts and use the Virgo ability to ground those instincts into reality.

2. Making the Mystic Realistic
This actually happens to be my motto and the motto for this blog. Ironically, I started this blog during the Virgo Pisces axis of 2015, so it makes perfect sense. The Virgo Moon is analyzing all of the Pisces energy and is deciding what you can realistically manifest, and what needs to go. For example, you might have been dreaming about having this amazing perfect job, and yet you haven’t taken any practical steps to acquire that job. The Virgo Moon will tell you to hold on to that dream, but to start putting out resumes and do some networking. Or perhaps you have been fantasizing about getting married and starting a family. The Virgo Moon might completely discard this fantasy because you are not in the right place for that and should be focusing on other things in your life right now. Essentially, this full moon will be giving you a reality check in the Virgo Pisces axis area of your life. It’s not about discarding all of your dreams, since Virgo knows that dreams are the architecture of your reality, rather, she wants too ensure that you are healthy and not obsessing over things that are not “serving” you.
1dfa5942925eddf29f10de4be412ad5f
3. Feeling is Healing
This is probably the toughest job for Virgo and one that will be the most uncomfortable during this full moon. Virgo’s are known to be quite cranky and moody and this is because they like to keep all of their emotions stored up inside. They are very afraid of vulnerability and the Piscean void of being open and receptive. Virgo’s will store their pent up feelings inside and these feelings get stored in the sacral chakra- the bowels, intestines, liver, and sexual organs. We know energetically that if you are constipated, or are too regular, or are feeling more depressed and anxious- the above mentioned areas will not be functioning properly due to a build of up of emotions. Remember, Virgo rules the bowels, so it tends to have issues digesting its feelings. With such a heavy emphasis on Pisces energy at this time, we will be feeling extra emotional. You want to be careful that you are not suppressing your emotions, but are finding ways to release them. Go for a walk, do some exercise or yoga, meditate, walk barefoot through the grass, cry, do anything that will help to ground you. Virgo is the sign of the harvest so we have an interesting energetic portal opening up for us at this time. Full Moons wrap up cycles, usually two week cycles, but I would go further back and say this moon is wrapping up what began during our New Moon in Virgo back on September 19, 2017. What did you experience back then? With a harvest moon occuring right before Spring, there is a need to release and discern what is healthy for us and what is making us sick. We all know Virgo is the sign of health and healing, so use this Full Moon to listen to your body.
There has been a lot of hype about this lunation for the simple fact that we have a stellium in Pisces. We cannot discount Pisces energy as being illusory and useless, we have to honour all of its magical gifts by using its Virgo opposition to materialize it. This is why the Full Moon in Virgo is about ‘separating the wheat from the chaff’ the most sacred work there is.

New Moon in Capricorn January 16, 2018: The Walls Will Crumble

The Moon is encased in lead and steel during this New Moon phase. We have 6 planets in Capricorn which is adding a very serious tone to our lives at this time. Capricorn rules structure, stability, effort, and time- all of which are being illuminated. New Moons are times of self-awareness, so you will be seeing the harshness of the structures that have been created in the Capricorn ruled area of your life. You will feel frustrated as you want to change it up and break free from the tower you have been imprisoned in. However, Saturn will make sure that you first do your time in order for you to understand how you can knock it down and start anew. There’s tension building with the square to Uranus because you and Capricorn both know that it’s going to take time and effort. In order to fix the problem, you first have to know what the problem is.

The walls will crumble……………..eventually.

The song Walls Fall Down by Bedouin Soundclash is so fitting for this lunation. Just take a look at these lyrics

‘A bit unassured, a bit insecure
I climbed up and I saw the world I lacked
And my first stone cracked, foundations collapsed
Standing on the ground in stone I’d found’

The Tower card in the Tarot is also a great representation for this NM. The tower is the Capricornian structure we have built and the square from Uranus is the lightning strike that hits the tower. We won’t be falling off of our tower at this time, but just like the tarot card suggests, it’s the realization that you are off course and wrong that is the hardest to deal with.

New Moon in Sagittarius: The Vision Quest Completed

Date: Monday December 18

Moonbeams: Visions Realized, Reality Checks, Burdens Lifted

The New Moon in Sagittarius is not going to feel like your classic New Moon. Saturn is exiting Sagittarius at the time we have this New Moon. Saturn is a dense slow moving energy so wherever he leaves, you will feel a great weight lifted off of your shoulders. You won’t necessarily experience new beginnings in the Sagittarius ruled area of your life, but you will reap the rewards of the restructuring that has been going on here during these past two years. We have an ending and a beginning happening simultaneously.

Sagittarius is a sign that is associated with our higher perspective, so expect the New Moon to give you that major reality check that has been in the works since 2016.

We will have the Sun, Moon, Mercury RX, and Venus in Sag, so the emphasis on your Sag ruled area/house will be forcing you to ponder the lessons you’ve learned here.

Reach for the stars and accept your reality for as it is. Your vision quest in Sagittarius has come to an end. Saturn in Capricorn will help you to collect your trophies and receive your medals of honour.
