Almond Tree Personality & Transit- August 14-23 & February 9-18

The almond tree is a tree of optimism. If you are born under the influence of this tree you can adapt to all situations and become a very good manager. Your self confidence is contagious, your charisma takes you into many love relationships and good business deals. You love, love and falling in love is a part of your life rhythm. Open, giving, and friendly you enjoy art, music, and sports. You appreciate money as a tool for your entertainment. You are a self centred perfectionist which can also be your major weakness.

This transit you might find yourself very busy like the bees responsible for pollinating the Almond Tree. Your immune system could come under attack. Your might also find yourself to be fertile both reproductively and spiritually- birthing new ideas. Almonds were traditionally used as fertility charms to mimic the seed of man. Almond Tree transits can also see you come into some money and a potential new relationship. Almonds signify long lasting love so expect to find a true love- although this does not necessarily mean it will be a person, for instance you might discover a passion. Almond Tree transits are also excellent times for breaking addictions and starting a new health regime. You might also find yourself interested in exotic places or sand since Almond Trees are native to North Africa, Middle East, & the Indian Subcontinent.

A Magic Carpet Ride

As someone with a lot of Pisces in my Astrology make-up, I’ve heard all too often that Pisces just want to escape and are living in an illusory day-dreaming state. While I do relate to these tendencies, there is a certain beauty that is also present with escapism.

Rising Above

Being disconnected from reality doesn’t imply being disconnected from life or source. Disconnection can simply mean detaching from the present holographic reality. Detaching is a code word for transcendence. Sure, disconnection can lead to irresponsibility and numbness, but why do we assume that leaving implies swimming downward as opposed to upward…….hence the Pisces glyph? Disconnecting from reality is merely rising above the static here and now to take a gander from a different perspective, high up in the rose quartz coloured diamond sky.. A heightened level of awareness allows you the opportunity to have a broad view of what’s going on down below.

Siren State

Rather than work against your energies and soul imprint, work with and immerse yourself in your dominant element. If that’s Water, then live your life from a place of non-attachment. Accept what is happening to you knowing that you can rise up into the clouds to gain perspective. If Earth is your element, live your life from a place of grit. Don’t be afraid to get down and dirty.  Bury yourself deep into what’s handed to you, knowing that you will always be able to dig yourself out of the soils of toil. If Air is your dominant element than buckle down and study what comes your way, because you have the ability to solve any problem. If Fire is your dominant element know that fire is the energy of rebirth. You will always rise up from the ashes.

When Pisces is your dominant sign and Water is your dominant element, remember that you can always come up for air (perspective) when you find yourself being carried away the current.

A Whole New World

The Sabian Symbol for my 1 Degree Cancer Ascendant is

A PERSON ON A MAGIC CARPET OBSERVES VAST VISTAS BELOW

As the beautiful song from ‘Aladdin’ says- a whole new world awaits those willing to escape it every once in a while. What was once old, becomes new again.

I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide!
I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride
A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we’re only dreaming
A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I’m way up here
It’s crystal clear
That now I’m in a whole new world with you
Now I’m in a whole new world with you
Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky
A whole new world
(Don’t you dare close your eyes)
A hundred thousand things to see
(Hold your breath it gets better)
I’m like a shooting star
I’ve come so far
I can’t go back to where I used to be
A whole new world
(Every turn a surprise)
With new horizons to pursue
(Every moment, red-letter)
I’ll chase them anywhere
There’s time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole new world
(A whole new world)
That’s where we’ll be
(That’s where we’ll be)
A thrilling chase
A wondrous place
For you and me

Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius- August 7, 2017: The Invention of You

The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick

This is the story of an orphaned boy who lives in a Paris train station repairing the clocks. All he has is an Automaton his father left him before he perished in a fire. Hugo believes the Automaton (Aquarius) contains a message from his father but is missing a heart shaped key in order to unlock the message. Hugo is reclusive (Aquarius) and has no friends, but one day a chance meeting with a girl at the train station who happens to be wearing a heart (Leo) shaped key necklace sets them off on adventure to unlock the Automaton (Aquarius). Once the Automaton (Aquarius) is unlocked, it reveals an image of a scene from a film called ‘A Trip to the Moon’ (Eclipse). I won’t spoil the rest of the story, but I feel it is the perfect representation of this Aquarius Lunar Eclipse. Connecting to with others might very well be the key to the answers you seek. Bringing 3 unconnected parts of yourself together Unconscious (Moon) Practical (Earth) Higher Self (Sun) to create a master version of yourself is the greatest invention of all time.

Things are coming to a tail end (South Node) so to speak from the February eclipses. Eclipses are times of dramatic completions, and are vortices of manifestation.

A Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Moon and Sun casting an earthly shadow on the Moon. The Moon represents our emotions, subversive nature, our unconscious, our happiness, and our incarnation imprint. When the Earth’s shadow eclipses the Moon- what we feel becomes grounded into practical reality. We take all of those elusive Moony qualities and turn them into the brick and mortar of our life.

The Full Moon Eclipse is occurring in Aquarius which rules the 11th house. The 11th house is connected to our peers, social groups, hopes, wishes, and our tribe. We will all be faced with the truth of whether we are sacrificing our identity to fit in, or are we soooo different that we are losing out on opportunities to connect? Aquarius rules all that is different, innovative, unique, inventive, surprises, and thoughtful. The negative expressions are detachment and irresponsibility. A key lesson to learn from the Eclipse is let go (South Node) of that which is inhibiting your progress (Aquarius) and to embrace that which will allow you to be YOU. The Lunar Eclipse is going to show you the full potential of your interactions with others- regardless of where this Eclipse is happening in your natal chart.

Aspects:

Jupiter in Libra which is all about meaningful connections will be trine this Eclipse suggesting that there is a need to widen your social interactions.

Mars in Leo Conjunct Sun in Leo- need to stand out. Remember- when you are yourself, everyone notices you!

Reincarnation Blues by Michael Poore- REVIEW

This quirky books tell the story of one soul- Milo and his nearly 10 000 incarnations. Each chapter tells the story of a different incarnation and the strange experiences and characters he encounters- everything from being eaten alive by a shark, to travelling the cosmos. Milo is in love with Death herself- Suzie, who he meets after he dies and the short stints he spends with her before moving on to his next life. He encounters her in each of his incarnations, although he does not remember her. They are madly in love with each other, but it is their complicated relationship of her being Death and him almost finishing his incarnational cycle that they devise a plan in order for them to be together. The plan is for Milo to achieve Perfection- meaning he can surpass becoming part of the Oneness of the universe and can therefore be with his true love. We accompany Milo during his different soul experiences, sometimes laughing, sometimes relishing in the simple beauty of life, and sometimes grieving alongside him. As someone who has always been fascinated with the concept of reincarnation, I thought this book while appearing to be yet another mystical fiction read, turned out to be a much deeper metaphysical exploration of the human experience. Appreciating the fragility of life while living up to your soul’s contract is a delicate balance we are all hoping to achieve.

It is easy when reading this book to jump to conclusions and cringe when we see Milo making a mistake and smiling when he’s done good……if only life were that easy. In the beginning of the book Milo does not want to stop reincarnating as he tells Death and some other elusive cosmic characters that “who doesn’t want to live?” What becomes apparent, is that Milo truly wasn’t living, he didn’t treasure every single moment of his lives because somewhere deep down inside he knew he would be back for another turn again. I believe the whole concept of reincarnation comes with a massive responsibility- we all like the idea of being recycled when we die, but somehow, that can become a cop out and excuse for not living a full life. Perfection- the state Milo is so desperately trying to achieve is not something we strive for, it’s something we must become.
