New Moon in Leo July 31st, 2019: Diamonds in the Dark

The New Moon on July 31st, 2019 is about the magic that occurs when the light catches a jewel. This is a highly creative New Moon that will sparkle like a multi-faceted diamond, casting prisms of multi-cololoured beauty in your world.

The Aspects

New Moon conjunct Venus- beautiful self expression

New Moon square Uranus- a shining, shimmering, splendid whole new world (to quote Aladdin)

Venus square Uranus- enlightenment

The Kozminsky symbol for the New Moon is:

9º Leo: A lady, elegantly dressed and bedecked with many jewels, standing before a mirror.
Denotes one fortunate, but somewhat vain, whose desire it is “to make a good appearance’ and who expends much money for this purpose. But the glories which shine forth from a great soul, glitter more than the choicest diamond in the daintiest setting, giving a lasting beauty which age cannot change nor time obliterate. There are two sides to this symbol, and both reflect, for it is a symbol of Reflection.

You will be called to express yourself through creative endeavours which can be anything from art, beauty, fashion, writing, or through making an unconventional decision. There is great healing that can occur when you let your heart open itself up to a modality that will not judge it, critique it, or condemn it. This is why artists are typically emotional people because their art is the only way for them to translate their pain in a beautiful way that can touch people in the way their feelings touched their canvas, paper, or stage.

This is the first New Moon after the eclipses earlier this month signalling a detoxification process. The only way we can detox our systems is through creativity. There is a lot that has happened on levels of our being we don’t even realize, but it will reveal itself when you begin to employ artistic and creative tools.

Like a jewel that has many faces that all glint and glimmer in their own way, the beauty of the jewel is not in these separate facets, rather its the overall sparkle that draws people to it. We each have our own complexities that can overwhelm us and keep us in the dark, but the more we can turn them to the light (express them) the shinier and brighter our world will become.

Mercury is stationing direct on this same day which will bring hidden information out in the open. It will be in Leo, so matters of the heart will be wanting to be expressed. This does not have to be romantic feelings, it can be any raw feeling that is looking for a voice (Uranus in Taurus). The word “heart” contains the word “art” for a reason.

So what is the light that catches the jewel? It’s that special magic that occurs when your heart (honesty, truth, authenticity) aligns with your life. It’s when the two begin to reflect each other that light- your unique sparkle is created.

I wrote another lunarscope for this New Moon over on my other blog thetempleofvenus.wordpress.com  taking into account the fixed stars and healing aspect of this lunation. You can read it here.

Full Moon in Libra April 19, 2019: Light Spectrum

The Full Moon in Libra is occurring at 29 degrees Libra which is an anaretic degree, so the push to harmonize and bring together seemingly separate things is at its strongest…not to mention this our second Full Moon in Libra in 2019. The Moon is about to enter the watery depths of zero degrees Scorpio- where the water is murky and black, where we will need to explore these new depths, where light can be located.

The 29th degree of the Moon speaks about an accumulation of energy, or we can say justice since the Moon is in Libra. But what is justice?

The Symbols

The Sabian Symbol for 29 Libra is: Libra 30: Three Mounds of Knowledge on a Philosopher’s Head

This is about getting out of our heads and seeing the bigger picture. It’s about seeing the truth of a situation and there is nothing more truthful than justice (Libra).

The Kozminsky Symbol for this FM is: 30º Libra: A boy moping over his book in a schoolroom.
Denotes one who will have to wake up else he will be elbowed out of everything by others more vigorous. He is possessed of good mental qualities, is well-mannered and good-natured, but he allows others to take advantage of him, and he will suffer from deceit and unfairness. It is a symbol of Sluggishness.

This symbol is also about taking a step back to blur your eyes so you can truly see what is in front of you. The sluggishness is about a softening of the gaze.

The Aspects

The only major aspect during this FM is the Moon opposition to Uranus. This means we will have a strong need to go it alone and in order for us to bring together the “three mounds of knowledge” – Heaven, Earth, & Man.

The dispositor of the FM is Venus at 28 degrees Pisces. The Sabian Symbol for her is:

Pisces 29: The Light Passing Through A Prism

This is about acknowledging the connection between all things. It’s about understanding the relationship (Libra) between the whole and the parts. It’s about seeing how everything is connected. Venus is just one degree past its exaltation point so it speaks about the light of the universe being found in our heart. We have to appreciate the beauty of inter-connectedness. When we are able to truly see the balance of life “as above so below, as without so within,” miracles happen.

There is a beautiful quote from the book/film ‘Winter’s Tale’ which evokes the energy of this lunation:

Justice can sleep for years and awaken when it is least expected. A miracle is nothing more than dormant justice from another time arriving to compensate those it has cruelly abandoned.”- Winter’s Tale, Mark Halprin

To Conclude…

The Full Moon in Libra is asking us to believe in ourselves and the luminous connections we radiate out of our heart. To believe in yourself is to believe in heaven, earth, and humanity. It’s about believing in love.

Take some time during this Full Moon to think about everything you are connected to. Start with a person who is close to you and map out every person that person knows. Try it with an object, or a place, or something close to your heart. You will see that those things that mean something to you are but beams of love who form connecting prisms of light with every other thing in this world. The scales of justice are a light spectrum, we can only see the entirety of light by coming to a balanced place within our hearts first.

Once again here is another quote from ‘Winter’s Tale.’

“All rivers run full to the sea; those who are apart are brought together; the lost ones are redeemed; the dead come back to life; the perfectly blue days that have begun and ended in golden dimness continue, immobile and accessible; and, when all is perceived in such a way as to obviate time, justice becomes apparent not as something that will be, but something that is.” – Winter’s Tale, Mark Halprin

New Moon in Aries April 5, 2019: Wildflowers

The New Moon in Aries after the Spring Equinox is the official start of the new year! The energies attached to this lunation will plant the seeds of what the next 12 months will be sprouting. This particular New Moon is asking us to put down our roots before we start forcing growth.

The Aspects

New Moon square Saturn, Pluto, South Node in Capricorn- is the garden we are trying to grow in fertile enough to support our growth?

New Moon trine Ceres- it’s time to start plucking out the weeds and clipping back the dead parts in order to stimulate new growth

Mercury conjunct Neptune in Pisces- visualize your blooms, but understand that blossoms have a short life span. The process of growing is more important than what is actually revealed.

The Kozminsky symbol for this New Moon is:

16º Aries: Wild flowers growing amidst the corn in a sunlit field.

Denotes a person of charm, a lover of freedom- mental and physical-of nature, and of simple loveliness whose works in life will be blessed with success, and whose individuality will make itself felt amongst men. It is a symbol of Abundance.

Aries energy is impulsive, pioneering, energetic, and fierce but the difficult aspect to the stellium in Capricorn is reminding us to direct our energies to sustaining our growth. This means we must be patient, resourceful, creative, and committed to our long term vision no matter how difficult things may get.

As the Kozminsky symbol says, we must look to wildflowers as inspiration. They grow where the conditions are right for them, not necessarily where they want to grow. Rather than forcing things to happen, let’s adapt to the conditions that arise because the winds of change are blowing from Capricorn, so let’s be open to and accepting of where our seeds germinate, because that’s the fertile ground where our visions and ideas will bloom.

Imbolc: The Cosmic Conception

Imbolc marks the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. However, it is so much more than that.

There was a frequency and or seed that what was released at the Winter Solstice (Capricorn season- entirely male event). It was a frequency that was encoded with our hopes, dreams, and wishes for the new year. That frequency becomes seeded at Imbolc- with Earth being symbolic of the womb. This is Conception which is why Imbolc is essentially a Fertility ritual. Mother Earth (matrix) needs to start receiving this energy in order to give birth at the Spring Equinox. Imbolc is an entirely feminine event unlike the Winter Solstice. It is on this night that Mother Earth decides to marry the Fire God which makes her a bride= we get the word ‘bride’ from Brigid. She is a triple goddess which is where we get the three tiered wedding cake.

We can see this feminine energy in nature:

-February 2nd sap begins to rise- feminine energy is beginning to awaken to the male energy.

-Warm blooded creatures begin to lactate.

-Groundhog Day occurs on February 2nd- this is symbolic of giving birth.

The Water Bearer

Imbolc occurs at 15 degrees Aquarius which is known as a critical degree in Astrology. The 15th degree is a turning point, one of great change and force. This force is Spiritual Intelligence. We know that intelligence is Brigid’s virtue. If we look at the Aquarius constellation 15 degrees falls at the point where water is cascading out of the water-bearer’s vase. These are spiritual waters that are being poured onto the Earth.

If we are living in a time when we understand the reality we are creates comes from the mind and heart before it touches the ground- or manifests- there has to be a dream or a vision first, which is the essence of Aquarius. We can take everything we dream, and pour our heart and soul into it, we can print it onto the soil and ether simultaneously. We impregnate the ether with our hopes and wishes. Aquarius is an air sign so we can expect our hopes and wishes to be carried away by divine energies back up to the cosmos.

The Aquarius glyph is the zig zag which we can assume is electricity. It is at Imbolc that we experience the spark of life that gets ignited. This is why Brigid is a fire goddess. Earth at its core is hot and fiery. It is here where crystals and land formations are created. Aquarius also represents our inner sun. Fire is the ultimate creative energy, but it also destructive. We can view the two zig zag lines as- what you’re putting out is what you are getting back. The zig zags are frequencies. It’s important to pay attention to any omens you receive during the first week of February as these will indicate what the upcoming year has in store for you. Your manifesting powers are especially strong right now.

The Ugly Duckling Syndrome

The constellation Cygnus is known as the Swan constellation. This constellation is beside the Aquarius constellation. Ironically, one of Brigid’s symbols is the swan because she transformed herself into a symbol of hope and peace. If we follow the Swan’s Path/constellation it takes us on a journey to the galactic centre which is the centre of our milky way. It is believed that souls enter and leave through this centre and descend from the planetary dimensions to Earth through it.

Essentially- Imbolc/Brigid’s Day is a celebration of the galactic centre. A celebration of our Cosmic Conception.

‘The Great Wizards of Antiquity’ by Guy Ogilvy- REVIEW

This book looked at the so called wizards of history- famous figures and more obscure trailblazers who by using what we would consider occult practices attempted to unravel the mysteries and secrets of life. The first section explored ‘Prehistoric and Mythic Magic’ specifically focusing on the Lion Man which was very interesting and something I never knew about prior to reading this book. Section two examined ‘Pre-socratic Sorcerers of Ancient Greece,’ which was a drier section but still interesting nonetheless. Finally, the third section looked at ‘The Western Alchemical Tradition’ which I found to be the most fascinating, especially the stories about the Islamic alchemists and the chapter on James Price. A good portion of the book focused on philosophers whose theories about the existence of humanity are in many ways considered magical, for how they were able to come to such conclusions is truly astonishing.

The book contained some personal magical experiences of author Guy Ogilvy, which were a little eerie, but certainly helped to bring a sense of realism to the overall book. This book was also well sourced and I liked that large sections of primary sources were included in the chapters as well. I jotted down many notes and obscure facts that I want to research further which is quite exciting.

Overall this was a fascinating book and even though I never would have called Pythagoras or Epimenides “wizards,” if a wizard is someone who is wise, than yes, after reading this book, I also agree that these individuals possessed so much wisdom, that they were indeed magical.

Lunar Eclipse January 21, 2019: Courage

Date: Monday, January  21, 2019

Times:

  • Los Angeles – January 20, 9:16 pm
  • New York – January 21, 12:16 am
  • London – January 21, 5:16 am
  • Delhi – January 21, 10:46 am
  • Sydney – January 21, 4:16 pm

Moonbeams: Hold your head up high, adjust your crown, and lead your life with dignity and courage.

The Lunar Eclipse on January 21, 2019 is not only a Full Moon, but a super moon and bloodmoon unleashing a series of fireworks to mark the grand finale of the eclipses in Leo we have had since 2017. This eclipse will be happening at 0 degrees Leo, adding a royal flair to this lunation. There is an opportunity for regality being offered to us which will ask the question “is the stability of the norm more important than the freedom of courage?”

This particular eclipse will also be a blood moon due to the reddish tinge that will cover the moon as its passing behind Earth’s shadow. Blood Moons have a long history with being connected to important biblical and world events, and I would recommend googling this for further information.I think of Blood Moons as frequencies that change the DNA of our karmic experiences. They are sort of like flabotumists who extract some of our blood for analysis. The Blood Moon is a way to deliver some brand new experiences on our karmic journeys that have waited for a specific divine time to do so. The Blood Moon is now the time to welcome in the new. A new blood supply is coming. Our results from our blood test from the past 1.5 years, have finally come in.

The Aspects

Moon square Uranus- impatient and impulsive

Mercury square Uranus- unexpected information

Sun sextile Ceres- planting new seeds

Moon trine Ceres- upholding tradition

Pull Your Crown Up Over Your Eyes

The eclipse will be quite Uranian in nature which the fixed energy of Leo does not enjoy. There is a disruptive energy present at this time which is forcing us to confront our emotional limitations. This is what every full moon asks of us, but there are heavier long term implications with an eclipse. Leo is a regal sign that must learn the lessons of courage. With all of the unsettling Uranian influences, we are being pushed out of our royal carriages in order to see the real world. The Kozminsky symbol speaks to this:

1º Leo: A king stepping from his carriage receiving a document from a group of citizens.
Denotes one who will be enabled to grant or to refuse to grant the wishes of others. He will reach a position of importance and will receive many honors, and benefits will accrue to him. The demand is for an understanding of the use, not the abuse, of power. It is a symbol of Authority.

As I mentioned in the beginnning of this report the question is

“is the stability of the norm more important than the freedom of courage?”

Eclipses push us into new experiences that are meant to accelerate our growth. As the final Leo eclipse, we must be courageous in the area of our lives that is ruled by Leo. Royals have a very delicate balance to maintain. They must uphold the stability of the crown while continuing to evolve and appeal to the modern times they find themselves in. We must do the same.

Grand Finale

So the bloodmoon lunar eclipse is going to make the King have blood on his hands- but will it be because he has ignored the need to modernize or will it be because he has taken the risk to involve himself in the outer world? Leo energy always helps to remind us of who we are. Step into your power and sit on the throne that is your heart. When we allow courage to be our driving force, passion is what rules our kingdom.

The Everyday Empath by Raven Digitalis- REVIEW

The Everday Empath by Raven Digitalis is a manual for those who identify as empaths or for those who suspect they might be empaths. This books covers all the bases from defining what an empath is, to coping strategies, to outlining the benefits of being an empath, and everything in between. The main message throughout was that the key to surviving in today’s world as an empath begins with living a balanced life by cultivating self-care.

What I particularly liked about this book was that it teaches you how to become more self-aware, so it’s not about hating your empathic abilities or placing the blame on other people for the way you feel. In this sense, this was a self-empowering book that made me feel proud and confident being an empath. There were many exercises outlined in the book to help cope with the emotional tsunami’s of being an empath. I thought some of them were stronger than others because some seemed very ritualistic and complicated such as doing a lot of visual work while trying to stay present in interactions. A standout technique were the protective shields. This is an innovative technique that makes energy protection creative and fun. I also thought the cord cutting exercise was unique and more hands on compared to other cord cutting techniques.

Overall this book is a must read for those who are struggling with being an empath because you will finish this book feeling less burdened and overwhelmed by your gifts and you will come to understand that emotional equilibrium is in fact achievable.

Tales from the ’11’: Part 2

As our 11 universal year comes to a close, I thought I would share some final thoughts on what this intense and liberating energy taught us. Part 1 of my 11 universal year analysis can be found here.

Confrontation

The 11 in numerology represents enlightenment, illumination, awakening, and authenticity. It is a master number because these are some of the hardest things to achieve.

This year saw us having to confront our authenticity. We were tested with lessons and hardships in order to get to the root/core of who we are.

Those who were born with an 11 lifepath, are the “late bloomers” of the world as they struggle with embracing their true selves. I’m an 11 life path myself, so the lessons around being true to who I am are a constant struggle for me.

2018 happened to be an 11/2 year, meaning the core frequency of the 2 was also at work. The two is the number of relationships, balance, and harmony. Even though it seemed like the focus was on us, part of confronting our authenticity involved healing those parts of ourselves in others.

Sacred Reciprocity

Relationships were emphasized this year- perhaps they under went serious evaluation, rebuilding, or strengthening. When we are able to heal our relationships, we heal those parts within ourselves that have been buried, neglected, wounded, or forgotten.

When we are able to confront who we are, we gain confidence and trust- two things the 11 struggles with. Confronting our authenticity creates sacred reciprocity- the ability to have a relationship with the unseen and spiritual. We develop a profound understanding of our place in the world which helps us better serve our purpose.

I noticed many people experienced tragedies and setbacks that forced them to deal with issues they were avoiding. When we experience big upsets, it’s always the last attempt from the universe to wake us up. It’s a beautiful act of awakening that is disguised as a horrible catastrophe.

Final Thoughts

Here are some things that the 11 universal year should have brought you:

-Shift in perspective

-Greater compassion

-Emotional detachment

– Self-sacrifice

-Patience

-Mirroring

-Healing

It’s amazing that when we experience just some of the above mentioned things, we unlock the power of who we are. It’s a special kind of magic that only appears when it’s time for us to upgrade to a more purposeful version of ourselves.

2019 will be a universal 3 year, a time for us to share our new selves no matter how much opposition we face internally or externally.

Tony Robbins a life path 11 has many quotes that symbolize the 11 energy, but here is one that I feel best sums up this year

Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.

See you in 2019!

Full Moon in Gemini November 22, 2018: Twinning Ideas

Moonbeams: Looks are deceiving

Lesson to be Learned: Belief is a sexy form of control when your motivations are fear based. When your thoughts and beliefs are passionate, your motivations are hopeful.

The Full Moon in Gemini is teaching everyone to slow down and sustain ideas by using power instead of force. It’s easy to be conned by our ideas and beliefs when we are acting out of fear instead of passion. So ask yourself the following questions:

“is the idea more important than the result?”

“can I accept that it could fail?”

“will hastiness somehow make the idea better?”

“does it make me feel excited or nervous?”

“what are the pros and con’s?”

The Aspects

Full Moon square Mars- anger and frustration

Moon opposite Jupiter- overenthusiastic

Mars square Jupiter- chasing a conquest

The ruler of the FM is Mercury who is retrograde in Sagittarius. This is making us rethink ideas that have become a bit fanatical. The aspects during this lunation are showing that we are feeling very fired up about ideas and beliefs and yet we have no raw manifesting power at this time. It can feel like you are arguing with yourself, trying to convince yourself that your ideas and thoughts are the real deal. Let’s keep in mind that Mercury is the trickster so what seems to be good and true is in fact not 100% accurate.

Mars has the loudest voice during the Full Moon and with him in the sign of Pisces, we have to let our burning thoughts cool off for a while in the watery domain of “let go and flow.”

Remember that every idea has a positive and negative side and fighting for one at the expense of the other will fracture or split the idea leaving you with nothing in the end. Let stuff come up but don’t get emotionally attached to it, because for all you know, what you’re fighting for could be the evil twin masquerading as the good twin.

Full Moon in Aries September 24, 2018: True Grit

grit

/grit\

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, grit in the context of behavior is defined as “firmness of character; indomitable spirit.” Duckworth, based on her studies, tweaked this definition to be “perseverance and passion for long-term goals.”

The Full Moon in Aries is completing a cycle that began on April 16, 2018 when we had our New Moon in Aries. That New Moon which was the snapshot of energies we would be dealing with this year, happened to be conjunct Uranus. So this Full Moon begs the question “how has the instability of your life affected you this year?”

The Aspects

Moon conjunct Chiron- feeling extremely vulnerable

Moon square Capricorn- fears that are holding you back

Sun conjunct Mercury- self critical thoughts

Moon opposite Mercury- hard things to think and talk about

Moon sextile Mars- this too shall pass

Mars conjunct South Node- saying goodbye to the comparison trap

Moon trine North Node- be proud of your wounds

This is the heaviest moon of 2018. The major theme of this year has been about getting honest and real with ourselves which is the true grittiness of being authentic. This requires us looking into the stories we tell ourselves, the self-talk, & the hurts around our identity. Aries deals with our individuality, yet during the unexpected and abrupt experiences we’ve dealt with this year, we have been struggling with bridging the gap between our individualistic values and our needs. It’s only when we form solid values that we are our true selves.

At the same time, all of the major planetary cycles of this year- Saturn in Capricorn, Uranus in Taurus, Mars conjunct the South Node, Chiron in Aries, Mars square Uranus, the summer eclipses share all one thing in common: restructuring. So there is a push and a pull for us to create new values, yet that first requires us learning new things about ourselves. We are in the midst of an identity crisis and the only way to get through it, is to cultivate some self-acceptance. You can accept who you are by owning up to your feelings and by channeling your pain towards the North Node in Leo which our Moon and Chiron is supporting right now. Look to see which house the North Node is transiting and focus your energies there.

I don’t know exactly what the future holds, but I’m stepping forward with grit anchored in grace. -Julie Graham

The day after this Full Moon (September 25th), Chiron will be retrograding back into Pisces where we will have the chance to retrieve those forgotten spiritual lessons that we should be applying to our identity wounds. Pearls of wisdom await us but they require a gritty perseverance if we expect to retrieve them.

Can you rework your past? That grit that rubs in you, until it is shiny and smooth as a pearl?- Anne Funder
