New Moon in Taurus May 15, 2018: The Rosebud

Moonbeams: Find your happiness. You will bloom when the conditions are right.

The New Moon in Taurus is special for a few reasons. Firstly, on the day of the NM Uranus moves into the sign of Taurus until 2026 which is going to detabilize our sense of security. Check out my blog all about this here. Secondly, Mars is at the final degree of Capricorn which feels like a do or die situation. Thirdly, Mars is squaring Uranus which is amping up the voltage. Let’s take a closer look shall we.

“The day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” – Anais Nin

This year’s Taurus New Moon lacks the cushy stability it’s known for. It’s as though the other planets and energies are hijacking the security that we usually feel with Taurean moons.

Mars is squaring Uranus during this NM making us feel restless and ruthless. Remember that Mars at 29 degrees feels like jumping off the bridge just because he’s desparate for a change. Be careful not to take any foolish risks. It’s best to channel this intense energy through exercise and movement. Taurus is a sensual sign so there is a major test we are being handed from the universe. How grounded can you be admist chaos?

Mars and Pluto are making a trine to the NM can bring up some deep seated emotions leading to angry outbursts or suppressed sadness. On a positive note great healing can be accomplished in the two week span of the NM. Mars & Pluto trining the NM brings Venus the ruler of the NM into the mix as well. Bringing these three planets together will help us to understand where we are devaluing ourselves. As whatshisface once sang, “every rose has its thorn” but does that make the Rose ugly or does it simply show that beauty doesn’t come without pain?

Venus the ruler of the NM is is Gemini which is an intellectual placement. We have the ability to rationalize and make sense of everything that”s going on. It’s a nice relief from all of the intensity.

To go back to the Anais Nin quote above, there is a frustration that has been present for a while now. We have three planets in Capricorn- Saturn, Pluto, & Mars. It feels as though time has stopped moving and we want to forge ahead. It feels incredibly stagnant and slow which is driving everyone crazy. We are ready to blossom because it’s no fun being a bud anymore. Flowers know that when the conditions are right, they will bloom. Uranus moving into the sign of Taurus is agitating the soil. Emotions are stirring at this NM which will activate new growth. Flowers value their conditions because without them- sunlight, water, soil, shade, they would never survive. Instead of resenting your current situation, look to nature- Taurus’ domain for guidance. Appreciate the beauty that surrounds you, love your struggles, and be grateful for slowness….afterall, Roses only bloom for a few short weeks. Value your time as a bud, because that will determine the beauty of your bloom.

Did you know Roses are ruled by Taurus?

Your Moon, Your Mama

Did you know that your Moon sign not only describes your Mother but also indicates how your children will perceive you?

Moon in Gemini- Your Mother was very intellectual, youthful, didn’t pay much attention to you, rationalized everything, was educated, very busy, worked multiple jobs, and was skillful. Your children will perceive you the same way, but might also view you as a Jekyl and Hyde personality. They might feel uncomfortable approaching you.

Your Mother was curious, a traveler, philosophical, wise, positive, supportive, hopeful, but also unreliable perhaps too many broken promises. Your Mother was also blunt and had a great sense of humour. Your children will perceive you the same way and will know you to be a very spiritual person.

Moon in Capricorn- Your Mother was not emotional so you might not have bonded in an emotional way with her. Your Mother was critical, had very high expectations, hard-working, money obsessed, stable, grounded, it was important for her to provide you with a sense of stability in your life. She gave you a lot of tough love which served you well in your life. Your children will perceive you in the same way, and your children will need discipline in their lives.

Moon in Aquarius– Your Mother was away from the family which could have been through a divorce or she was very social or working a lot. Your Mother was interested in the New Age…she might have even been an Astrologer! She was intellectual, friendly, a best friend type of Mom, not very emotional- maybe even a little emotionally detached. She was a humanitarian, she worked with lots of people, quirky, and artistic. Your children will perceive you in the same way, but it will be important for them to have you take an active interest in their lives.

Moon in Pisces– Your Mother was gentle, emotional, creative, musical, a writer. The Moon in Pisces can also indicate that your Mother had some form of a mental illness or addiction problems. Your Mother might have worked with ill people or was involved in healthcare in some way. She was a natural care taker and might have had to care for a sickly relative. She was a spiritual teacher and you had a psychic connection to her. Your children will perceive you in the same way and will see you as being emotionally weak and secretive. You will also have a psychic connection to your children. You will always know what they are thinking and feeling without them having to say anything.

Full Moon in Scorpio April 30, 2018: Under the Cherry Moon

The Scorpio Full Moon will feel like a do or die moment. Scorpio does rule death, so the question to ask yourself during this lunation is “are you killing yourself slowly and softly by not living your life?”

The Moon will be squaring the North Node in Leo which feels as though you are trying to run away from your life. The Lion only camouflages when it’s stealthily watching its prey, but are you hiding out because you are plotting your next move, or are you hiding away because you don’t want to deal with the reality of your current situation? Your situation is the Scorpio ruled area of your chart.

Saturn is sextiling the Moon and trining the Sun suggesting that we need to expose ourselves. Talk to someone about your fears and deepest wants. Saturn is creating a glaze of emotional maturity over this Moon, so getting real with yourself first and then communicating this with someone you trust, will help you to heal.

It seems that every Full Moon this year has been super intense because with our North Node in Leo, 11 universal year, Saturn in Capricorn- along with Pluto & Mars, Chiron transitioning into Aries, & Uranus moving into Taurus- we have been dealing with a lot of bruises to our egos and a strong desire to live an authentic life. There’s a lot of restructuring going on “up there” so it demands more honesty and peserverance on our part.

The Moon’s trine to Neptune will sharpen our intuition and dreams, but she is also sending some clean water to our murky Scorpionic depths. “Trust the process”will never be more heightened than at this Full Moon.

Mars & Pluto are still conjunct so we will feel this strong urge to make some changes, but we’re stuck waiting in the water because what we are sensing is out of reach….for now.

The Full Moon in Scorpio is also called ‘The Pink Moon’ because the flower Phlox is said to bloom around this time of year. Phlox means souls becoming united in flower lore, so use this Full Moon to bring together your voice (Taurus- opposite of Scorpio) with your heart. (Phlox is the flower in the above pic.) The colour pink connects to our heart, so it’s important to open up your heart this week-end and just speak its truth.

There’s a song by Prince called ‘Under the Cherry Moon’ whose lyrics I feel describes the frustration of wanting to move forward but feeling stuck because destiny is not allowing it. The Full Moon will have a cherry hue to it, so I’m convinced Prince knew something……. (btw, Prince died during a pink moon in April 2016, oh and he was a Scorpio rising).

‘Under the Cherry Moon’

Prince & the Revolution

How can I stand to stay where I am?
Poor butterfly who don’t understand
Why can’t I fly away in a special sky?
If I don’t find my destiny soon,
I’ll die in your arms under the cherry moon
I want to live life to the ultimate high
Maybe I’ll die young like heroes die
Maybe I’ll kiss you some wild special way
If nobody kills me or thrills me soon,
I’ll die in your arms under the cherry moon
If that’s alrightLovers like us dear are born to die
If they don’t find us what will we do?
I guess we’ll make love under the cherry moon
I’ll die in your arms under the cherry moon

Full Moon in Libra March 31, 2018: The Weighing of the Heart

This lunation is about bringing together our heart and mind in order to create a perfect equilibrium, worthy of Maat. Maat is an Ancient Egyptian concept of justice. It was believed that social and personal disharmony disrupts the heavens which causes hiccups in the cycle of the seasons, social interactions, the movements of the planets, and truth. Behaviour on Earth directly affects the cosmos. This is a little different from what modern day new age philosophies preach- as above so below. We have resorted to blaming the planets and tricky alignments for chaos on Earth, but perhaps we need to take some responsibility and realize that we are in a symbiotic relationship with the universe. It will respond to our actions, just like we will respond to it.

When a soul was passing through the underworld, its heart would be weighed against the feather of Maat- the feather of justice. The heart contained the soul of the person and the accumulated energies…both good and bad of the person. If the feather was found to be lighter or of equal weight to the feather, it meant the person lived a virtuous life and would prosper in the afterlife. If the heart was found to be heavier than the feather, the heart would be devoured by the lion goddess Ammit and was to be left in the Duat…purgatory.

Your Heart Weighing Ceremony

If we relate this to our Full Moon in Libra, the lesson here is selflessness. Selflessness requires honesty to thy self and the willingness to compromise. To the Ancient Egyptians, a virtuous life meant that the individual used their power for the greater good of the universe, deeply appreciating the delicate balance it had with the heavens and the responsibility to be a good person on Earth.  Are you being a bystander in your own life, surrendering everything to the universe without taking responsibility for your actions? Or are you co-creating with the universe, setting positive intentions, helping others, and honouring your unique self? This time of balance (especially after the equalizing energy of the Spring Equinox) can emphasize our imbalances. Our Leo North Node might have been making you a little too egotistical, or our Aquarius South Node might have been making you too compromising. Ironically, it was the lion goddess who devoured the imbalanced hearts……….too much Leo energy is unvirtuous which means one cannot truly ascend.

This is the first Full Moon after our cosmic equilibrium of the Spring Equinox where a fertile energetic frequency was created. The conditions are still fertile- especially with this Venus ruled Moon. Falling on Easter Sunday, we know that we are celebrating cosmic ascension (Christ, the Solar Deity rose to heaven on this full moon after the Spring Equinox). We can ascend or more practically speaking, evolve and lighten (Libra) up through rooting our actions with a sense of purpose and grace. Libra energy is about moving away from “me consciousness” to “we consciousness.” Ask yourself if what you are doing is motivated for selfish purposes, or are you wanting to help humanity through your actions? Remember, Libra is an air sign which is great for thinking, and coupled with Mercury Retrograde in Aries, the time is perfect for self-reflection. We are also in an 11 universal year which is also forcing you to awaken so you can share your light with the world.

Think of this Libran Full Moon as your own Heart Weighing Ceremony. Are you acting with integrity, or are you acting with ignorance? Will Anubis allow you to ascend? Or will the Leo goddess devour your soul?

The Aspects

Sun & Moon square Mars & Saturn in Capricorn- this aspect is about looking at the bigger picture. We want to move ahead (Mars), but Saturn wants us to plan. This transit will teach you self-awareness which is required for true balance in our relationships with others and the universe.

Moon Trine North Node in Leo- Like the lioness goddess Ammit who devoured the unvirtuous hearts, we too can remove those parts of ourselves that are holding us back. This might require speaking up for yourself or taking a step back depending on if you’ve been too selfish or too selfless.

4 Things I Learned from My MOON MATURITY

According to Vedic Astrology, planets mature at certain ages which means they come to their full potential. The ages of maturity for the planets are as follows:

Sun- 21

Moon- 24

Mercury- 32

Mars- 28

Venus- 25

Jupiter- 16

Saturn- 36

Rahu- 42

Ketu 48

A planet that has not reached its maturity will improperly express its attributes. Saturn at 22 will lack the responsibility and structure it so desires until age 36.

I will be turning 25 on March 22nd which will be my Venus maturation which can mean that the Venus ruled houses of my chart will be growing up, and the area of relationships, self worth, values, beauty, and so forth will be realized.

Moon Maturity

This past year I experienced by Moon maturation at age 24. As a Cancer Ascendant in Western Astrology this was a pretty big deal for me as it rules my first house, but sits in my 10th house in the Placidus system but actually rules my 9th house. As a very lunar soul, I can say that I felt this maturation quite strongly.

The Moon rules the emotions, our mind, and our mother. All of these areas underwent their transition into adulthood.

2017 was a year of rapid change for me and it normally doesn’t take alot to get me emotionally overwhelmed. However, 2017 I didn’t cry as much as I normally do, and had a more surrendered approach to all of the instability in my life. I was less emotional in the typical moon child way a.k.a crying about every little thing. I had a more adult approach to things in my life. I had more responsibility with regards to my job (10th house), and my perspective on life and spirituality took a more serious tone (9th house).

What I Learned:

  1. You can’t change anyone

Last year I got my first real job at a New Age shop and found myself embroiled in unwanted office politics. I was very dedicated and hardworking. I have a strong business sense, so working there, I immediately noticed everything that wasn’t working at the store. I suggested a lot of changes, and even went out of my way to initiate them, but I soon realized that it’s not my job to educate someone about their own business. If they don’t want to fix it because it’s simply an income for them, then my passion is being wasted. I’m not here to change anyone, it’s not my responsibility, so sometimes cutting your losses and moving on is the only way to get through to some people. Prior to my Moon maturation, I would have had an emotional breakdown at the thought of not receiving recognition, but thankfully my Moon’s growth spurt helped me to emotionally detach.

2. Everything happens when it’s mean to happen…..

As I mentioned, last year I experienced a lot of life changing things. I quit school unexpectedly, moved temporarily, got what I thought was my dream job, and started doing professional book reviews. When I quit school it was around the eclipses in February and it took me until August to secure a job. Prior to my birthday Moon maturation, I was an emotional mess. I sent out tons of resumes and even went to a career counselor who was stumped as to why I couldn’t find a job? Quite randomly one afternoon in August I was perusing a local new age shop’s Facebook page and saw that they were hiring. I felt an overwhelming feeling of needing to apply, even though I thought I would never get it. Low and behold a few minutes later I got an email back from the owner asking me to come in for an interview the next day. I did, and was hired on the spot! It had to take the most obscure job and advert for me to find the job that was destined for me. My Moon maturity helped me realize that as much as I think I have some sense of control over my life, I really don’t. Now I try not to stress so much about things not happening at the speed I would like them to. Waiting it worthwhile.

3. Dont’t be so pessimistic

Yes, I am a former pessimist. I’m a late bloomer, so it takes a lot longer for me to materialize things in my life which creates an unhealthy cycle of self pity and self criticism. Out of the blue this year I had many happy moments. I started to see that my career and life were finally coming together which gave me a sense of hope for the future. My Moon is in Pisces so I tend to get addicted to melancholy and sadness so my first reaction is normally negative or pessimistic. 24 was a big year for me because I finally had a taste of material success. It made me more optimistic, and the more optimistic I was, the more magnetizing I was doing. I didn’t realize how much harm pessimism was causing me, but my Moon maturity helped me understand that life is what you make of it, and we have to find our happiness everyday.

4. Mom’s aren’t perfect

I also would like to add that the Moon rules over our Mothers, so my relationship with my Mom matured as well. For the first time in my life I started to see her flaws and felt a strong need to emotionally detach from her ( we are super close). We also started talking about more serious things about my life such as relationships, if I ever want to get married or have children, when I want to move out, and so forth. These were things that we normally didn’t talk about so it was nice to have a more grown up connection with her. I started reflecting on my relationship with her, and how she raised me which helped me to form an adult opinion of her.

To conclude….

So tomorrow is my 25th birthday (March 22nd) and I am definitely looking forward to my Venus maturation. My Moon maturation completely transformed my emotional world, so I can’t wait for my Venusian qualities to become the ladies they are meant to be.

What did you experience during your Moon maturity at age 24? I’d love to know!

New Moon in Pisces March 17, 2018: Rear Window

Our final New Moon before the Cosmic New Year is starting off with a bang! There is a build up of tension right now as you are itching for something new and yet it’s taking its sweet Pisces time. This is a unique NM because it has happening just a couple of days before the Spring Equinox. We have an ending and beginning together- it feels like you are looking through your rear window into your front window. New things are coming, but you can’t seem to grasp it yet.

What is New Was Once Old

The New Moon is taking place in the Nakshatra of Purva Bhadrapada- the feet of the funeral cot.
The energy here is asking you to leave behind the old in favour of the new. We need to be looking at the glass as half full and not empty.
A New Moon in Pisces is always tricky because we have foot in the past and one foot in the future. I have noticed people who have this natal placement struggle with change as they are too attached to the past and usually experience things in their life that forces them to detach from their known identity. I happened to be born on a New Moon in Pisces so I definitely know how it feels to be looking both ways at once.
Grace Kelly was born on a New Moon in Pisces in the Nakshatra of Purva Bhadrapada and her life story is a classic example of how these energies can play out. She was a successful Hollywood actress who was forced to give up her career for her new royal title of Princess of Monaco. Her acting career haunted her throughout her royal life as it was believed she never quite got over her retirement. She made the best of her royal career by playing her most important role yet- the role of Princess of Monaco.
Case in point- if you feel a sense of anxiousness about letting go of the past and what awaits you after the Spring Equinox, know that you have created a firm emotional foundation this year with all of the Pisces energy we experienced thus far which will carry you into your next phase.

Rear Window
Rear Window, the Hitchcock suspense film that was career defining for Grace Kelly is the perfect New Moon in Pisces metaphor. It’s helpful to look out your rear window every now because you never know what you might see. Our past informs our present which dictates our future. At the end of the film, James Stewart was able to catch the murderer because he looked out his rear window into the lives of his neighbours. Look back on your past at this New Moon, because it will tell you a lot about what’s to come and will minimize feelings of frustration.

The Aspects:
We have some intense action with Mars which shows an inner frustration with how little is manifesting for you right now.

A semi sextile to Uranus suggests looking at things from a different perspective by paying extra close attention to omens at this lunation.

Mars trine Uranus will help to combat some of the frustrations you have by helping you to think differently about your situation.

Full Moon in Virgo March 1st 2018: Separating the Wheat from the Chaff

Moonbeams: Discernment, Materialization, Healing

Major Lesson to be Learned: Being of service to your higher self by grounding its energies into practical reality

Challenge to Overcome: Not wanting to take a hard look at yourself without your rose coloured glasses on.

The Moon will be putting on her spectacles and rolling up her sleeves during this lunation. There are 4 planets in Pisces- Sun, Neptune, Mercury, & Venus which is imbalancing the Virgo Pisces axis to an extreme. Having such a strong conglomerate of Piscean energy will require la luna to put forth some extra efforts and put on her high beams in order to see through the ethereal mist.

Like a Virgo

Virgo is an earthy sign that is methodocial, organized, self sacrificing, and analytical. It’s staring at all this mystical energy plotting how to fix it. On the other hand, Pisces is a sign of mysticism, surrender, dreams, and emotions. It’s staring at Virgo charming and luring it away from a place of rigidity to a place of flow.

Virgo Full Moons are our opportunities to clean up the Virgo ruled area of our lives. We have 1 full moon in this sign every year and every year I usually see a lot of people decluttering, cleaning, organizing, and revamping their lives. This is Virgo’s ‘sacred work.’ Being of service to yourself and humanity through letting go of material fixations and focusing on how you can help others from a place of true sincerity and humility. When a Virgo is able to properly harmonize its Piscean energy, we can see some beautiful practical magic unfold.

Sacred Work involves applying the 3 ways of the Virgo Pisces axis. Here are 3 ways to work with the energies of this moon.
93e2e21ed0ab1a2419cdd6d785d32c81
1. Intuition Precision
Have you ever wondered how it is that Virgo’s always seem to know how to plot their next move? As someone with a few Virgo’s in my family, I can honestly say that I have rarely seen them take a misstep. It’s like they can envision exactly how something is going to play out. This is because Virgo’s more than any other sign, trust their intuition. They rely on their hunches and gut feelings as a navigational tool. Being an earth sign, they will follow through on their feelings and take action. It is this precision intuition that will be illuminated for us during this full moon. Trust your instincts and use the Virgo ability to ground those instincts into reality.
42dbc6acff0e633d6aac3dd9a7d9f699
2. Making the Mystic Realistic
This actually happens to be my motto and the motto for this blog. Ironically, I started this blog during the Virgo Pisces axis of 2015, so it makes perfect sense. The Virgo Moon is analyzing all of the Pisces energy and is deciding what you can realistically manifest, and what needs to go. For example, you might have been dreaming about having this amazing perfect job, and yet you haven’t taken any practical steps to acquire that job. The Virgo Moon will tell you to hold on to that dream, but to start putting out resumes and do some networking. Or perhaps you have been fantasizing about getting married and starting a family. The Virgo Moon might completely discard this fantasy because you are not in the right place for that and should be focusing on other things in your life right now. Essentially, this full moon will be giving you a reality check in the Virgo Pisces axis area of your life. It’s not about discarding all of your dreams, since Virgo knows that dreams are the architecture of your reality, rather, she wants too ensure that you are healthy and not obsessing over things that are not “serving” you.
1dfa5942925eddf29f10de4be412ad5f
3. Feeling is Healing
This is probably the toughest job for Virgo and one that will be the most uncomfortable during this full moon. Virgo’s are known to be quite cranky and moody and this is because they like to keep all of their emotions stored up inside. They are very afraid of vulnerability and the Piscean void of being open and receptive. Virgo’s will store their pent up feelings inside and these feelings get stored in the sacral chakra- the bowels, intestines, liver, and sexual organs. We know energetically that if you are constipated, or are too regular, or are feeling more depressed and anxious- the above mentioned areas will not be functioning properly due to a build of up of emotions. Remember, Virgo rules the bowels, so it tends to have issues digesting its feelings. With such a heavy emphasis on Pisces energy at this time, we will be feeling extra emotional. You want to be careful that you are not suppressing your emotions, but are finding ways to release them. Go for a walk, do some exercise or yoga, meditate, walk barefoot through the grass, cry, do anything that will help to ground you. Virgo is the sign of the harvest so we have an interesting energetic portal opening up for us at this time. Full Moons wrap up cycles, usually two week cycles, but I would go further back and say this moon is wrapping up what began during our New Moon in Virgo back on September 19, 2017. What did you experience back then? With a harvest moon occuring right before Spring, there is a need to release and discern what is healthy for us and what is making us sick. We all know Virgo is the sign of health and healing, so use this Full Moon to listen to your body.
There has been a lot of hype about this lunation for the simple fact that we have a stellium in Pisces. We cannot discount Pisces energy as being illusory and useless, we have to honour all of its magical gifts by using its Virgo opposition to materialize it. This is why the Full Moon in Virgo is about ‘separating the wheat from the chaff’ the most sacred work there is.

New Moon Solar Eclipse February 15, 2018: Back to the Gypsy that I was…

The Solar Eclipse in Aquarius will see our consciousness obscured by our mind and deep emotions. Our shadows are coming out full force and we will find ourselves focusing on all of our insecurities. We are feeling impatient, annoyed, used and abused. Highly evolved Aquarian energy fully surrenders to its divine plan by expressing its creative genius. This is the raw undoctored part of our self that represents our inner Sun. When we are authentically living, we can humbly serve the greater good of humanity. The Aquarius water-bearer is able to pour the water out of its vessel because he has cleansed himself of the external (Leo), the basic primal needs and desires of the ego. He has become an Angel, ready to serve. How can you give if your vessel is empty? If you are feeling overwhelmed by a sense of lack during this eclipse, ask yourself if these insecurities are really about You, or are they really about the ego? You can best serve your greater good when you come to understand that you are never empty. You have everything that you need when you need it. If you are wanting a relationship, be present in the relationship with yourself. If you hate your job, be a better employee to your higher self. If you feel scared, tell yourself you feel excited since fear is anticipation in disguise. When you start serving your higher self, you give to the world. We have a drought of conscious people right now, which is why we need more Aquarian souls to start drenching the collective with high vibes. Fill yourself up with humility and gratitude and the overflow will nourish everything you wish to magnetize. Water doesn’t repel, it heals.

The eclipse will be occurring on the South Node of the Moon which rules over our karma and the past. An Aquarius South Node will release all that is preventing us from living authentically. Aquarius energy is a freedom fighter, wanting to break free from safety and the status quo to follow its heart (Leo North Node). Consider this eclipse to be liberating and empowering. You’ll realize just how controlled and restricted you have been in the Aquarius ruled house of your chart. With the eclipse conjunct Mercury, there is a need to communicate your freedom and in typical Aquarian unpredictable fashion, expect the unexpected. A square to Jupiter indicates that self-respect is needed at this time so you don’t make a mess of things. Moderation and consideration for others is important. This is reiterated with the eclipse conjunct the asteroid Juno. Juno is an asteroid of marriage, and while marriage news and wedding talk might be more pronounced at this time, it will be the coming together of your higher self with your external reality that will be the ultimate union.

Song of the Eclipse: Gypsy by Fleetwood Mack

The lyrics to this song exemplify the energy of this eclipse. it’s about being struck with the realization that we are all gypsies at heart- following the call of a divine plan, even without knowing its destination.

So I’m back to the velvet underground
Back to the floor that I love
To a room with some lace and paper flowers
Back to the gypsy that I was
To the gypsy that I was
And it all comes down to you
Well, you know that it does, well
Lightning strikes maybe once, maybe twice
Oh and it lights up the night
And you see you’re a gypsy
You see you’re a gypsy
To the gypsy
That remains
Her face says freedom
With a little fear
I have no fear
I have only love
And if I was a child
And the child was enough
Enough for me to love
Enough to love
She is dancing away from you now
She was just a wish
She was just a wish
And her memory is all that is left for you now
You see you’re a gypsy, oh
You see you’re a gypsy
Ooh ooh, oh oh, oh oh oh
Goodness strikes
Maybe once, maybe twice
And it all comes down to you
Ooh oh, and it all comes down to you
Lightning strikes
Maybe once, maybe twice (oh)
I still see your bright eyes, bright eyes
(And it all comes down to you)

Disclaimer: I am aware that the term ‘Gypsy’ is offensive, however in the context that I am using it, it’s merely a way to describe a Bohemian spirit.

Lunar Eclipse in Ashlesha

I’ve been researching Vedic Astrology for the past couple of years, and to be honest, there is a darker more sinister energy that I have been picking up from this Eclipse. It’s more Serpentine, and less Leonine. According to Vedic Astrology, this Lunar Eclipse is happening in the sign of Cancer and in the nakshatra (or lunar manion) of Ashlesha.

Ashlesha means to embrace, cling, and entwine. The deity that rules this lunar mansion are the Nagas- the Serpent God.

Snakes are secretive and deadly, and have very strong occultic meanings, but they also have very keen senses that can sense danger from very far away.

The Lunar Eclipse according to Vedic Astrology is occurring in this lunar mansion, meaning we have the power to illuminate our own serpentine nature by having a heightened awareness of underlying motives and false friends.

Since Eclipses are cosmic resets, we have the power to shed our skins and let go of the accumulated karma of the past 6 months. Snakes are very strong creatures that do not attack unless provoked. If you find yourself lashing out at others, then this is a clear indication that you are being threatened and provoked by your secret enemies.

I don’t know about you guys, but I have seen a lot of snakes come slithering out from the grasses lately…….

Lunar Eclipse in Leo: Rise Like Lions After Slumber

Date: January 31st

Moonbeams: Rising up, completion, fruition

A Blue Moon (second full moon in one month), Blood Moon, Lunar Eclipse, & Full Moon all wrapped into one nice big lion pride!

A Full Moon is about completion and reaping what you have sown. What began 6 months ago during our last Leo Eclipse is coming up for completion now. If you started a new job then, you might be re-evaluating that job now or you might see some results. Things are finishing up. The Nodes of the Moon are karmic points, hence whatever is finishing up right now is fated.

A Lunar Eclipse is much softer than a Solar Eclipse so don’t expect to experience any major life changing events……you’ll have to wait a couple more weeks for that when we have a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius. The Moon rules our mind and emotions, so this eclipse will see you change the way you think and feel about whatever house Leo rules in your natal chart.

The Leo/Aquarius axis is being illuminated right now with regards to your Leo ruled area of your life. Where have you been too self sacrificing? How have you allowed others to take your power?

Eclipses are check in points. Are you going to sleep the day away like most lions, or are you going to rise from your slumber- hungry and ready to pounce and defend what is yours? When a lion feels its territory is being threatened, it will attack. Take your cue from royalty. Act with dignity and honour.
