Full Moon in Aries September 24, 2018: True Grit

grit

/grit\

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, grit in the context of behavior is defined as “firmness of character; indomitable spirit.” Duckworth, based on her studies, tweaked this definition to be “perseverance and passion for long-term goals.”

The Full Moon in Aries is completing a cycle that began on April 16, 2018 when we had our New Moon in Aries. That New Moon which was the snapshot of energies we would be dealing with this year, happened to be conjunct Uranus. So this Full Moon begs the question “how has the instability of your life affected you this year?”

The Aspects

Moon conjunct Chiron- feeling extremely vulnerable

Moon square Capricorn- fears that are holding you back

Sun conjunct Mercury- self critical thoughts

Moon opposite Mercury- hard things to think and talk about

Moon sextile Mars- this too shall pass

Mars conjunct South Node- saying goodbye to the comparison trap

Moon trine North Node- be proud of your wounds

This is the heaviest moon of 2018. The major theme of this year has been about getting honest and real with ourselves which is the true grittiness of being authentic. This requires us looking into the stories we tell ourselves, the self-talk, & the hurts around our identity. Aries deals with our individuality, yet during the unexpected and abrupt experiences we’ve dealt with this year, we have been struggling with bridging the gap between our individualistic values and our needs. It’s only when we form solid values that we are our true selves.

At the same time, all of the major planetary cycles of this year- Saturn in Capricorn, Uranus in Taurus, Mars conjunct the South Node, Chiron in Aries, Mars square Uranus, the summer eclipses share all one thing in common: restructuring. So there is a push and a pull for us to create new values, yet that first requires us learning new things about ourselves. We are in the midst of an identity crisis and the only way to get through it, is to cultivate some self-acceptance. You can accept who you are by owning up to your feelings and by channeling your pain towards the North Node in Leo which our Moon and Chiron is supporting right now. Look to see which house the North Node is transiting and focus your energies there.

I don’t know exactly what the future holds, but I’m stepping forward with grit anchored in grace. -Julie Graham

The day after this Full Moon (September 25th), Chiron will be retrograding back into Pisces where we will have the chance to retrieve those forgotten spiritual lessons that we should be applying to our identity wounds. Pearls of wisdom await us but they require a gritty perseverance if we expect to retrieve them.

Can you rework your past? That grit that rubs in you, until it is shiny and smooth as a pearl?- Anne Funder

Chiron in Aries 2018-2027: The Heart is a Lonely Hunter

Chiron the Wounded Healer is an asteroid in our solar system that orbits between Saturn & Uranus. Orbiting between these two planets suggests that Chiron’s energies are strong and awakening.

Chiron was a healer in Greek Mythology, and an immortal centaur. One day he was struck by a poisoned arrow from Hercules, which Chiron taught him how to make. He lived with incredible pain until he offered up his immortality to Prometheus who we know later gave fire to mankind.

This story shows us that we are our own worst enemy at times, and surrender is absolutely key to living a pain free life. Chiron’s placement in our horoscope shows us where are deepest wound is in our life and at the same time, how we can heal all that’s unwell in our life. The wound is a symptom of something larger going on within.

Chiron in Pisces

Chiron was transiting Pisces from 2010 until April 17, 2018. This 8 year transit saw us delving deep into the mystical energies of Pisces. It was a time where a lot of people underwent some serious spiritual awakenings and it was during this period that we saw the “New Age” becoming more mainstream. Fanaticism, deception, and floods, tsunamis, and hurricanes were running rampant. On a personal level, Chiron in Pisces forced us to swim in the deep waters of our subconscious, to peel back the layers of our 3rd dimensional reality to understand that what we see is not true reality. Many people underwent serious spiritual transformations.

Chiron in Aries

Chiron will move in and out of Aries until 2019- so the real hard work of Aries will be felt more in 2019.

Aries is the sign of self. It is an independent, initiative, birthing, soul forging through into new life energy.

Collective Level

On a collective level, Chiron in Aries will bring out a more self serving energy similar to the “America First” thing going on in the United States. I predict there will be less solidarity as everyone will be in it for themselves. Aries greatest wound is learning to accept help from others, so on a global scale, I predict there will be more push backs against trade agreements and geographical agreements such as the European Union and NAFTA. I also predict there will be more wars, and the devastation caused by war will force everyone to take a hard look at themselves. I actually noticed as soon as Chiron entered Aries, a G7 summit was held, and a lot of Western movies were airing on the television. The Wild West is a perfect illustration of a Chiron in Aries energy, because it was  “an every man in it for himself time.”

Personal Level

On a personal level, Chiron in Aries will offer deep healing of our identity. We will come to learn so much more about who we are and what our place is in the vast world and universe. We will be questioning our purpose and existence asking the question “Who am I?”

Another large wound of Aries is self love. A soul born with a lot of Arian energy usually lacks self love. This is because with a lot of Aries energy comes a new incarnational cycle. How many of us are truly confident and comfortable when we are experiencing something for the first time? Most of us feel awkward and shy, or our Egos compensate and we become overly confident only to suffer a bruised ego later on when we fail miserably or don’t live up to our own expectations. There will be a lot of healing on this level. Self love first requires self trust which is something we will be confronted with a lot during these next 8 years. Aries wants you to experience a lot of new things, but in order to truly experience them, a certain level of trust has to be present, and so Chiron will be forcing you to become self reliant. It’s no longer about the Pisces escapism where during the past 8 years you might have retreated into your head a lot. No, Chiron in Aries will push you into a lot of new situations head on that will force you to deal with them. We all know that you learn the most about yourself when you are challenged and try new things. Remember, Chiron in Aries is all about the self “who am I?”

Chiron in Pisces helped us understand the spiritual side to life, but that information is useless unless we can use it for self empowerment which in turn will empower humanity. Chiron in Aries will take all that “spiritual stuff” and make us use it for self analysis. Questioning your place in the “spiritual industry” and the universe itself will be very strong. We are moving away from healing deep emotional wounds to healing deep action oriented wounds. How are you holding yourself back? Are you afraid of taking some steps? Do you care about what other people think of you too much? What do you really want to accomplish in your life?

Aries is the warrior so you will feel the push to go your own way during this transit. It’s a very independent sign, so at times you might feel very lonely, but getting in touch with yourself is the only way to repair this Chiron wound. The heart is a lonely hunter.

Chiron in Aries will confront issues around self-love, self-worth, and identity that will create a balm of self awareness that will be the cure to the Aries wound of an unconscious self.

Chiron Retrograde June 27: The Skeleton Key

Chiron goes retrograde in Pisces on June 27 to November 30, 2016. Chiron is not actually a planet, but an asteroid/comet. It rules spirituality. Chiron is also complicated energy. It symbolizes the scars we carry with us when we live a mundane everyday reality that is far removed from our purpose. On the other hand, it symbolizes our journey to recovery from the wounds we have suffered from straying from our divine path. Ultimately, Chiron teaches us to balance our physical existence with our simultaneous metaphysical existence which includes our awareness, intuition, and choices we make.

Chiron is representative of the awakening experience related to the suffering and darkness that we must first have to endure before we can experience the light and goodness that comes from the shadow side.

In mythology, the centaur Chiron sustained a wound that never healed and he was said to have suffered unceasingly from it. And yet, it was this suffering that drove him to search for relief, and that search brought him the knowledge, wisdom and experience that expanded his knowledge about healing. This enabled him to counsel, teach and heal others, earning himself the label of the Wounded Healer.

Often times when we have suffered a wound, which may be physical, psychological, emotional, or spiritual, a part of that wound always remains a part of us. Time does heal all wounds, but the scar always remains, in fact is makes us who we are, and shapes our life experiences. Look to see where Chiron is in your natal chart, note the house and sign. This will show you the area in your life in which you have suffered and the area which offers you the greatest opportunity for healing.

Pisces is often known as the most compassionate sign of the zodiac and Pisces typically will use their extreme empathy to help anyone in distress, as long as they don’t neglect their own needs.

There is a danger when Chiron and Pisces come together. Chiron views suffering as a necessary part of life and Pisces views suffering as a way to help others. Coupled together, this energy may make you want to idealize suffering, and use it for attention or manipulation of others. On the other side, this noble idea of suffering is inspiring, as you have something to strive for.

Chiron in Pisces is all about connections. The Chiron wound we each have makes us feel different. Pisces’s shadow side includes disconnection. Chiron in Pisces will emphasize the longing for connection.

This retrograde period will be the time to reflect upon our scars and feelings we’d rather not deal with. Those our parts of our being too, and we can’t leave them scattered in our consciousness, blocking our energy. You must reclaim those fragments of your soul as they are those diamonds of wisdom that are essential to your evolution as a being of light. When we don’t acknowledge our pain, we cannot connect.

In astrology, Chiron is represented as the key. I like to think of Chiron as a skeleton key, unlocking the doors to your being. So take this skeleton key during our 5 month retrograde period and let the divine light burst through the doors that have been sealed shut with pain, and experience some profound healing.

Tips

Your wounds are not your weaknesses but your strengths

Being vulnerable is the only way to connect with others

Be honest about what you feel, even if it makes you vulnerable

Fear of any kind is only fear of rejection
