Juno: Your Marriage Partner

The Asteroid Juno is the ninth largest asteroid. In Greek mythology she is the equivalent of goddess Hera. Incredibly important in both Greek and Roman culture she was hailed as Queen of the Gods. Wife of Zeus she is the goddess of marriages and unions. Embodying femininity, she watches over conception, pregnancy, birth and care- Starsignstyle

In Astrology Juno shows us the person we are going to marry- their personality, how we first meet them, even their physical appearance.

There are many factors to consider for marriage, for instance, Venus shows us what we most need and desire in our relationships, Mars for women shows us what we sexually and physically are attracted to, and the 7th house indicates the overall energy of the marriage. Juno on the other hand shows us who we actually get as a partner.

In modern times, marriage doesn’t have to mean a legally binding contract. In present times, marriage for this sake refers to any relationship that is more than 1 year long. Juno will show us the partner with whom we are in the longest most committed relationship with. If you are dating someone casually with no strings attached, you would look to the 5th house for details about the partner.

You can find your Juno placement by going to Astro.com and click the extended chart selection where you can input the # ‘3’ in the asteroid box at the bottom of the form.

So now let’s take a look at Juno in each of the 12 signs and houses…

The Almanack by Martine Bailey- REVIEW

The Almanack by Martine Bailey is an astrological murder mystery story set in 18th century England. It followed the mysteries surrounding an almanack whose sinister predictions came true and the scandalous village life that found itself at the mercy of this strange prophetic stellarium.

I thought this book was a breath of fresh air. As an Astrologer myself, I loved how an almanack was the main character, which is an obscure part of history that hasn’t found its way into many fictional stories. The mystery was intriguing and every character was suspicious which kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters were flawed and relatable and the cosmic tidbits woven throughout the story satisfied my Astrology background. I loved how each chapter began with a riddle, an astrological observation, and a prognostication which foreshadowed the events in the chapter. It was as though I was reading an actual almanack!

I whizzed right through this stellar murder mystery and can’t wait to read more from Martine Bailey! My prognostication is that readers who love classic whodunnits and those who have an appreciation for the occult, will absolutely adore this story.

Jupiter in Sagittarius Square Neptune in Pisces 2019

Jupiter in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces is the big aspect happening this weekend January 13, 2019. It will be occurring 2 more times this year. We can expect the truth being obscured by the iridescent waters of Neptune in Pisces. Things will be presented one way but will turn out to be very different. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. This transit can make us idealistic falling into the ethereal trap that watery energies like to set up. Jupiter in Sagittarius is telling us we must modify our beliefs to align with our morals and values. The big test will be are you going to let fantasy and idealism carry you away even though you know it’s not going to end well? Or are you willing to stand up for your truth and walk away even if the siren song of Neptune in Pisces is intoxicating? Deception is seductive but we have the “God” planet Jupiter in the sign of Sagittarius which is all about taking the high road even if you don’t know the final outcome. You can keep your rose coloured glasses on, but be prepared, Jupiter will hold you accountable for your actions.

Tips

2019- A Universal ‘3’ Year

2018 was an 11 universal year, a time when unseen parts of our consciousness were brought to the surface. A big lesson of the master number 11 year was about cultivating sacred reciprocity. This involved learning to have a relationship with the unseen and spiritual. We began to develop a profound understanding of our place in the world in order to better serve our purpose. If you would like to read more about the lessons of 2018, you can read my blog post here.

2019

2019 will a universal 3 year. This is the number of understanding. We will be called to dissect and analyze those unseen parts of our consciousness that were brought to the surface last year. We must imbue it with understanding in order to gain depth of perception. Most of us will not be aware of what our spiritual upgrades were in 2018, but this year we will be forced to clarify and uncover those lessons. In the Kabbalah, the number 3 represents the ‘unfolding of what was once hidden, but is now knowable.’ 2019 will be the year of truth.

Truth

The 3 vibration has to do with communication. One of the ways we can learn what the truth is, is by communicating. Sharing our thoughts and opinions and expressing our unique views will help us identify our truth. This doesn’t mean we have to yell them from the rooftop or blast them on social media. This is less about voicing them and more about how we express them through our actions. This is facilitated through having a strong core.

Solar Plexus

The focus will be on healing our Solar Plexus Chakra. This is the chakra found in the centre of our body and is all about developing core strength, personal power, and owning your truth. As I previously mentioned, 2018 was a year of waking up those dormant parts of ourselves that are imperative to our purpose. The Solar Plexus Chakra is ruled by the Sun, so we must bring to light the good, the bad, and the ugly. When our core is strong we are able to stay focused and confident as we confront the truth. The Solar Plexus is responsible for motivation and determination. As the number 3 completes the triality of the 1 and the 2, we must take action this year to bring our truth into form.

It’s a great year to do core exercises, clean up your diet, and also to be more discerning about what you read and say.

Working with yellow crystals is also advisable.

How To Know What Your Lessons Were in 2018?

2019 is our golden opportunity to make changes in our lives congruent with the newly self-discovered parts of ourselves from 2018.

The lessons of 2018 involved the following themes:

Compassion

Relationships

Surrender

Patience

Authenticity

Reflect on how these themes played out in your life and what your learned from them. 2019 is the year to manifest what your learned.

Tips on How to Work with The 3 Energy

-Take up a new creative hobby

-Learn new skills

-Read books you would never have read before

-Write down your craziest ideas

-Exercise- specifically core exercises. Pilates would be a great choice!

-Finish what you started

-Read before you hit “send”

-Be optimistic

-Own up to your feelings

-Speak to a therapist or counselor if you need help

There’s a beautiful quote by Shania Twain who is a Life Path #3. In this quote she is indirectly referring to the Solar Plexus Chakra. The 3 energy has played out very strongly in her life which is why she is familiar with its lessons surrounding courage, compassion, creativity, and willpower. This is also why she always shows off her core.

Jupiter will also be in the Fire sign of Sagittarius all year which is the transit of truth. The nodes of the Moon will be in Water and Earth signs along with the eclipses. These transits will have some of the strongest impacts on our lives this year, which means the trinity of Fire, Water, and Earth will be active.

All the best to you during this 3 universal year!

Winter Solstice- Birth

A seed or frequency is created at the Winter Solstice that is encoded with our blueprint for the coming year. At Imbolc- February 3rd, that seed becomes conceived and the gestation period begins at the Spring Equinox and that seed/frequency will be released at the Winter Solstice 9 months later.

The Winter Solstice occurs when the Sun enters 0 degrees Capricorn and is known as the exit door, while 0 degrees Cancer is known as the entrance door at the Summer Solstice. We are ready to give birth to our creation.

This creation will look like a spark and feel like self-awareness and rebirth. We spent 51 days from Samhain to the Solstice in our underworld, confronting our shadows. Now we must shine the light of the Sun on them and release them while the Sun is at his peak.

I would recommend thinking about your power word for 2019 and your resolutions. This is the official start of the New Year. This is your birth.

This year we have a Full Moon in Cancer the following night symbolizing this beautiful synchronistic birth.

Bright Solstice to all!

Tales from the ’11’: Part 2

As our 11 universal year comes to a close, I thought I would share some final thoughts on what this intense and liberating energy taught us. Part 1 of my 11 universal year analysis can be found here.

Confrontation

The 11 in numerology represents enlightenment, illumination, awakening, and authenticity. It is a master number because these are some of the hardest things to achieve.

This year saw us having to confront our authenticity. We were tested with lessons and hardships in order to get to the root/core of who we are.

Those who were born with an 11 lifepath, are the “late bloomers” of the world as they struggle with embracing their true selves. I’m an 11 life path myself, so the lessons around being true to who I am are a constant struggle for me.

2018 happened to be an 11/2 year, meaning the core frequency of the 2 was also at work. The two is the number of relationships, balance, and harmony. Even though it seemed like the focus was on us, part of confronting our authenticity involved healing those parts of ourselves in others.

Sacred Reciprocity

Relationships were emphasized this year- perhaps they under went serious evaluation, rebuilding, or strengthening. When we are able to heal our relationships, we heal those parts within ourselves that have been buried, neglected, wounded, or forgotten.

When we are able to confront who we are, we gain confidence and trust- two things the 11 struggles with. Confronting our authenticity creates sacred reciprocity- the ability to have a relationship with the unseen and spiritual. We develop a profound understanding of our place in the world which helps us better serve our purpose.

I noticed many people experienced tragedies and setbacks that forced them to deal with issues they were avoiding. When we experience big upsets, it’s always the last attempt from the universe to wake us up. It’s a beautiful act of awakening that is disguised as a horrible catastrophe.

Final Thoughts

Here are some things that the 11 universal year should have brought you:

-Shift in perspective

-Greater compassion

-Emotional detachment

– Self-sacrifice

-Patience

-Mirroring

-Healing

It’s amazing that when we experience just some of the above mentioned things, we unlock the power of who we are. It’s a special kind of magic that only appears when it’s time for us to upgrade to a more purposeful version of ourselves.

2019 will be a universal 3 year, a time for us to share our new selves no matter how much opposition we face internally or externally.

Tony Robbins a life path 11 has many quotes that symbolize the 11 energy, but here is one that I feel best sums up this year

Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.

See you in 2019!

Nodal Axis in Cancer Capricorn November 2018- 2020: Folk-Heart

The North Node will be moving into Cancer and the South Node Capricorn on November 6, 2018 until 2020. Overall this will be a softening compared to the fired up axis in Leo Aquarius.

The North Node in Cancer will be shifting the focus away from “this is who I am” to “this is how I feel.” The North Node in Leo was about deconditioning. It was a time when you took some risks and pursued things that would empower you. Maybe you took up a new hobby or started a new creative project? Or maybe you flaunted your true colours instead of worrying about what your family and friends would think? Now that you have upgraded to a newer version of yourself, it’s time to feel it out.

The NN in Cancer will be a time of nurturing your mind, body, and spirit. Do what will feed your soul. You now know what lights you up from the North Node in Leo. Now you have to Mother it.

The South Node in Capricorn will gift everyone with perseverance and focus. You will need to use those qualities to achieve comfort in your life. A SN in Capricorn can make it difficult to focus on things besides career and wealth, but this will be the transit where lifestyles will be restructured. Have you ever met someone who had a successful career and then unexpectedly quit and decided to buy a farm and spend the rest of their days tending to sheep? Chances are they were born with this axis. It’s going to be less about the rat race and more about enjoying life. Here are some questions to reflect on:

What will make you feel emotionally fufilled in your life?

How do I really feel about this?

Look back to the years 2000/2001 to see what was happening in your life then. The NN was in Cancer at that time so see what Cancerian themes were happening for you.

Folk-Heart

I predict there will be more nationalism and ancestral healing coming up. Cancer rules our family and homeland so I believe many people will be visiting their homelands and many immigrants might choose to go back home. The NN in Cancer will see many people reconnecting (Cancer) to their roots (Capricorn). You will feel yourself pulling away from the known structures in your life but you won’t necessarily know where you are going. Whenever you find yourself gravitating towards your culture, rest assured that this is your higher self’s way of saying “home is where the heart is.” Living a life of passion and intention begins at home, the place where you can be intimate with your feelings. For some that will mean traveling abroad and for others that will mean getting comfy on the couch. Now that the Leo/Aquarius nodal axis has shown you who you really are, now you have to find the right environment that will allow you to honour this new self-honesty.

The NN in Cancer is about finding your place in the world which is in the loving embrace of a person or through loving life. You must nurture your life as if it were a small child. Loving life is the only way you can feel fulfilled. Ironically, the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach.

Full Moon in Aries September 24, 2018: True Grit

grit

/grit\

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, grit in the context of behavior is defined as “firmness of character; indomitable spirit.” Duckworth, based on her studies, tweaked this definition to be “perseverance and passion for long-term goals.”

The Full Moon in Aries is completing a cycle that began on April 16, 2018 when we had our New Moon in Aries. That New Moon which was the snapshot of energies we would be dealing with this year, happened to be conjunct Uranus. So this Full Moon begs the question “how has the instability of your life affected you this year?”

The Aspects

Moon conjunct Chiron- feeling extremely vulnerable

Moon square Capricorn- fears that are holding you back

Sun conjunct Mercury- self critical thoughts

Moon opposite Mercury- hard things to think and talk about

Moon sextile Mars- this too shall pass

Mars conjunct South Node- saying goodbye to the comparison trap

Moon trine North Node- be proud of your wounds

This is the heaviest moon of 2018. The major theme of this year has been about getting honest and real with ourselves which is the true grittiness of being authentic. This requires us looking into the stories we tell ourselves, the self-talk, & the hurts around our identity. Aries deals with our individuality, yet during the unexpected and abrupt experiences we’ve dealt with this year, we have been struggling with bridging the gap between our individualistic values and our needs. It’s only when we form solid values that we are our true selves.

At the same time, all of the major planetary cycles of this year- Saturn in Capricorn, Uranus in Taurus, Mars conjunct the South Node, Chiron in Aries, Mars square Uranus, the summer eclipses share all one thing in common: restructuring. So there is a push and a pull for us to create new values, yet that first requires us learning new things about ourselves. We are in the midst of an identity crisis and the only way to get through it, is to cultivate some self-acceptance. You can accept who you are by owning up to your feelings and by channeling your pain towards the North Node in Leo which our Moon and Chiron is supporting right now. Look to see which house the North Node is transiting and focus your energies there.

I don’t know exactly what the future holds, but I’m stepping forward with grit anchored in grace. -Julie Graham

The day after this Full Moon (September 25th), Chiron will be retrograding back into Pisces where we will have the chance to retrieve those forgotten spiritual lessons that we should be applying to our identity wounds. Pearls of wisdom await us but they require a gritty perseverance if we expect to retrieve them.

Can you rework your past? That grit that rubs in you, until it is shiny and smooth as a pearl?- Anne Funder

Venus in Scorpio RX 2018: Death Becomes Her

Date: September

Theme: Mastery of Death

Venus in Scorpio sucks the life out of everything. It needs to experience the full essence of everything it comes into contact with so it is able to survive. Essentially because of this, Venus in Scorpio only attracts death. Once the passionate kiss has worn away, only the carcass remains. On a personal level you will find your relationships become an obsession for you. You will desire to experience the depth of your emotions within and without a relationship. You will feel the need to merge with your surroundings, slithering your way into every nook and cranny of your subconscious. This will allow you to understand your intimate relationship with relationships, money, values, and self-esteem. You will get to explore what it is that you truly desire with the above mentioned topics.

Scorpionic energy lives in the shadows so make sure you aren’t simply sinking deeper and deeper into your obsessive thoughts without asking some important questions such as:

“Who am I when no one is watching?”

“If money was no issue, how would I live my life?”

“If I had a lover that was created to listen to every insecurity and secret without ever passing judgement, what would I tell him/her?”

“What is on my bucket list? How many have I accomplished?”

Asking these questions will help you peel back the layers of who you think you are and help you reach the light deep within.

Important Dates

October 5th, 2018: Venus officially goes Retrograde in Scorpio taking you to those deep and dark places withing. Use the above self reflective questions as your guiding light. Let’s not forget that Venus’ co ruled sign of Taurus has Uranus there which is also the opposite sign of Scorpio. This indicates a period of reshaping your values that are in accordance with the answers you receive.

I cannot stress enough how strong attraction will be at this time. This is so we can facilitate the exploration of who we are through another person. If you are single with no prospects of meeting anyone, you will find yourself being lured to confront your secrets, neglected passions, and insecurities that you buried in the cemetary of your heart.

October 31st, 2018: Venus RX will re-enter Libra which will look to integrate some of the profound insights you will have had in Scorpio. They will then be weighed against your heart. Were the secrets you were keeping inadvertently burying your desires? You will be able to see just how bad your quality of life has decayed from suppression and misaligned attraction.

Death Is Only The Beginning

Venus in Scorpio will help you confront and hopefully overcome the fears that are keeping you stuck in the status quo. You will embark upon a journey of intensive interaction with yourself and others. It will be a time of incredible self-examination. You will be compelled to explore your own darkness and you will be intrigued by what you discover. It will be a time for us to recycle those cravings we have for the taboo and materialism into our own personal rebirth. Many will want to do some reckless things with their relationships and finances but you will need to ask yourself “what’s behind the desire for irresponsible intimacy or foolish finances?” If you just let loose during this transit you will only build an internal resentment within yourself creating the emotional insecurity that Scorpio is known for. Use spirituality, metaphysics, counselling, healing, and the occult to transcend the earthly desires that are keeping you locked in a cycle of suppression and aggression. We always associate death with Scorpio because we have to be prepared to let go of everything we think we know about ourselves.

Til death do you part will ironically bring you closer to yourself.

I Am Andromeda: Cosmic Chit Chat

Back in late July I had my Astrology chart read by an Astrologer and friend whose work I greatly admire, Smiljana Gavrancic. Even though I am an Astrologer, Smiljana has years of experience and techniques that I have not learned. I recommend that every Astrologer have their chart read by another Astrologer because they are able to provide a subjective perspective using techniques that may be different than one’s own.

The most startling thing that was pointed out in my chart was that my Venus at 17 degrees Aries is conjunct the fixed star Baten Kaitos in the Cetus constellation at 21 degrees Aries. This star is known as the “chained princess” star. According to Smiljana this star represents “the intestines of the sea monster, the whale, and here we have the story of Andromeda, the chained princess, who is saved by Perseus.” I was not familiar with the story of Andromeda, but upon further research, I was astonished to learn that this story was very personal.

Who is Andromeda?

Andromeda is the daughter of the Aethiopian king Cepheus and his wife Cassiopeia. When Cassiopeia’s hubris leads her to boast that Andromeda is more beautiful than the Nereids, Poseidon sends the sea monster Cetus to ravage Andromeda as divine punishment. Andromeda is stripped and chained naked to a rock as a sacrifice to the monster, but is saved from death by Perseus. Andromeda and Perseus then went to Perseus’ kingdom in Saifos, married, and had children. Andromeda lived happily ever after by establishing a kingdom far away from her controlling mother Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia was then condemned to be chained to a chair forced to wheel around the North Celestial Pole on her throne, spending half of her time clinging to it so she does not fall off.

Perseus and Andromeda by Joachim Wtewael

I AM ANDROMEDA

This story happens to perfectly represent the relationship I have with my own Mother. Cassiopeia was a suffocating Mother. She didn’t think anyone was good enough for Andromeda which is why Poseidon punished her. Poseidon being the God of the sea, which is representative of our emotions, knew that the only way to punish Cassiopeia for her arrogance was to affect her on a very deep emotional level. All Andromeda needed in her life was a sense of freedom which she could not have under the domain of her Mother. It took a prince- Perseus, to come and rescue her away from the sea monster- the emotional disturbances. This is why Andromeda was known as the “chained princess.” She had to escape from the arms of her controlling mother, and go far away where she would have the opportunity to have a life of her own.

My relationship with my Mother is the relationship Andromeda has with Cassiopeia. We are extremely close (due to some other planetary alignments) and sometimes it feels as though she is preventing me from truly living my life. She always says to me “I have to live for myself,” yet she unconsciously guilts me into doing the opposite. Smiljana said the only way that I can break from her chains is to move far away from my Mother…another city, province, or country. She told me the man who will take me far away to his kingdom like Perseus, is the man I need to be with. So far no one is in my life, but as soon as I am completely self-sufficient, I know this is something I must do, even though it would break my heart.

When in Rome…

Audrey Hepburn also had her Venus in Aries conjunct Baten Kaitos, and her film ‘Roman Holiday’ also exemplified the story of Andromeda. Audrey played Princess Anya and she wanted nothing more than to escape from her role as Princess and live a normal life. So she decided to sneak out of her castle in Rome and wander the streets at night without anyone recognizing her. In her adventures through the eternal Rome, Audrey suddenly meets Gregory Peck, who plays an American journalist who falls in love with her.  Here we can see Audrey Hepburn as Andromeda and Gregory Peck as Perseus- a foreigner who is able to help Audrey escape.

It’s no coincidence that ‘Roman Holiday’ happens to be one of my favourite films. I’ve always had a fondness for Audrey Hepburn, but seeing as we both have the same “chained princess” syndrome, my fascination with her and this movie makes perfect sense!

More Synchronicity’s

The story of Andromeda can also be seen in the story of Demeter and Persephone. Persephone was kidnapped by Hades and had to remain in the underworld for 6 months of the year. Demeter being the goddess of the harvest, was so grief stricken that Autumn and Winter befell the Earth for 6 months. When Persephone was able to return to Earth, the following 6 months were Spring and Summer, hence why Persephone is the goddess of Spring.

My Mother happens to be born in the Autumn, while I was born during the Spring Equinox, so once again we can see the chained princess energy playing out.

My name means princess….coincidence?

Cassiopeia was believed to be the most beautiful goddess and constellation, and my Mother has always been complimented for her beauty.

My Mother has the fixed star ‘Shedir’ which is the Lady in the Chair star which is the main star in the Cassiopeia constellation conjunct her natal Moon (motherhood). Thus, we can say that my Mother has the ‘Cassiopeia syndrome.’

To Conclude…

Do I feel like a chained princess? Yes. I have had a privileged life, but freedom is all I crave, and I’m afraid it’s going to take a handsome foreign Prince to whisk me away. Is it wrong to wait to be rescued? Of course, but if I don’t, the monsters are going to eat me.
